Host Omar is so friendly and helpful. The property is stylish & newly renovated. Beds very comfortable. I slept so well here! And the downstairs living / bar area is a friendly place to hang out, check emails and order food and drinks from nearby. It’s very convenient for visiting Mount Nebo and Baptism of Jesus site on the Jordan River.

The Black Iris is a true gem very close to the main sites in Madaba. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel, and everything was delicious! We ate breakfast outside on the patio which was very pleasant. We highly recommend this hotel, and was excellent value for money. Staff are very welcoming and helpful. The room was a good size, bathroom was well appointed, and everything very clean.
The new and modern Rumman Hotel is a cozy, family-run business. It is quietly located only a 10-minute walk from the historic center of Madaba, also known as the City of Mosaics.

The tourist part with St John the Baptist church, visitor centre, museum and burnt palace etc is easy to explore and plenty of eateries too. Shop keepers are helpful and don't hassle you much. Easy to take a taxi to Mount Nebo, and I also enjoyed Bethany beyond the Jordan (where John the Baptist did his work), which takes a bit longer as you get bussed from the visitor reception to the river. It was amazing to look across the river to Israel where someone was being baptised. The Dead Sea and Hot Springs are also within reach, but not sure how it works with all the 4star hotels along the edge. Yellow taxis plentiful. If it's cold in Madaba (I was there in early March and they had a cold spell) the good news is its warm at the Dead Sea and the hot springs are wonderfully warm.

We almost skipped Madaba as we wanted to spend more time in Petra and Wadi Rum but were so glad we went and could have spent more time. Besides the incredible mosaics, there are Roman ruins and underground spaces that were fun to explore plus this had some of the best shopping we saw and we regretted not having more time to browse. With its Byzantine history Madaba feels different than the other cities in Jordan and is well worth the visit.

Madaba is an exquisite place to stay and visit not far from AMMAN. It is most famous for the world renowned mosaics which date from pre Roman through to the 6th century. The town bursts with history and is also has a small but interesting museum. The people are kind and welcoming as I have found throughout the whole of Jordan.

I was on business travel and could have picked either Amman or Madaba for my stay. I like Madaba much better since it is not as busy and vast as Amman, everything I need (restaurants, shops) is in walking distance to the hotel (5 to 10 mins). Madaba also has some sights like old churches and historical mosaiqes worth visiting. In my view, for pure touristic reasons, two days in Madaba might be sufficient, but for me as a business traveller, I like the town very much to spend my evenings. Madaba can also be used as a starting place for excursions into the surrounding (Mount Nebo, Jordan valley, Amman etc.).

Other than the popular attractions, Madaba is a great place to stay at the begenning or end of one's Jordan trip as it is close to Queen Alia airport (closer than Amman).
It is also a better shopping experience (for arab/muslim clothing) than Amman, as driving inside Madaba is much easier than Amman. Prices seemed to be better as well.

We had a spacious and comfortable room with a balcony facing the front of the hotel. The hotel has a nice bar and a convenient souvenir shop. The staff if friendly and helpful. Madaba centre is nearby with all the main restaurants and attraction just 10 minutes away. Across the road there is the Madab Mall.
We had a great time at Madaba Hotel. The location is very central (right next to the main attractions) and there is plenty of parking. The highlight was the owner preparing us breakfast, and taking care to make sure we enjoyed everything!
The hotel was located in the very heart of Madaba, on the opposite side of St George’s Church. The staff was really friendly and helpful, they waited for us after 11 pm when we arrived. The view from the rooftop was stunning.
super nice hotel in the city Center of Madaba. the staff was super attentive and kind. we got free bottles of water. the beds were super comfortable. everything was great!!
