Extremely professional and friendly staff who went above and beyond to fulfill every request. Felt like a home away from home. The hotel itself is very photogenic and filled with nostalgic charm, outlooking Lake Kawaguchi, and I was lucky enough to see Mt. Fuji from my room. Definitely coming back and bringing family and friends to this gem of a hotel. And they serve damn good coffee!

It was my 1st trip to see the majestic Mt Fuji! We arrived on Sunday for a 3 nights stay. We were lucky it was a clear day and could see Mt Fuji. Monday was a cloudy day and Mt Fuji was blocked by the clouds. Tuesday was a clear day. To be able to see Mt Fuji is dependent on the weather. There are many locations where we can view Mt Fuji: Lake Kawaguchiko, the ropeway, we took the red line bus and stopped at the end and got a non blockage beautiful view; the pagoda, train station etc
There are many activities offered. I strongly recommend buying the 2 days unlimited all buses tickets which we bought. A 4-night stay would be better if you want to cover more activities; in which case, the transport company may want to introduce the 3 days unlimited bus travel.

Be prepared to be truly blessed by the friendliest staff and amazing facility! The beds were exceptionally comfortable and the heated floors were amazing. After a long day of walking and sightseeing, it was a welcome surprise. The dinner we had served in our room was bountiful, so remember to save room for it.
The onsen was so relaxing and they have everything you need, such as hairdryers, brushes, hair ties, etc, but do remember to bring your own towel from your room. We got a room with a balcony that looked over the lake and it was well worth it. It was such a great spot to have a cup of coffee and watch the sun rise.

Dinner outside the hotel property can be a bit challenging
Many restaurants have these unusual operating hours. They'll open from 11 to 1:00 then close for the afternoon, and reopen at 5 or 6:00pm to 8 or 10:00pm
If the hours weren't difficult enough, they sometimes just fail to open at all, even though they advised the hours.
So, have a first, second and THIRD option for dinner
Lastly, if it's a really popular restaurant, they very likely have a que that can be quite long. None we went to took reservations.
We still loved the food at everyone. The waits were worth it.

The Train station is quite packed each day, so I recommend getting your luggage organized and plan your trips ahead. The bus into tokyo gets filled up most of the time so booking your bus ticket ahead of the time is ideal. overall the town is pretty nice to walk around, especially toward Fujikawaguchiko Lake. 81 Cafe has fantastic food and a great bike rental service, so make sure to check them out!

While we enjoyed our trip, I would say this place is not for everyone. You'll be walking your luggage down narrow sidewalks, possibly in snow. With trains unloading all the time, there are a lot of people in very small areas sometimes. Stores and restaurants can have lines and be hard to move around. Getting around in general is less easy than cities because it's a mountain town. And finally you are not even guaranteed to see Mt. Fuji during your stay. It's worth it all when you can, but potential visitors should be cautioned of all these other things.

Lovely place just two hours bus ride from Tokyo to get away from the bustle of a city and enjoy a scenic lake with Mt. Fuji views. Fantastic food, beautiful bike ride around the lake. Highly recommend for 2-3 nights.
If renting bikes to get around lake, strongly recommend e-bikes!
Beef cutlet restaurant was absolutely amazing.
Musubi cafe a short walk from Kawaguchiko hotel had the best onigiri breakfast sets, and an extremely peaceful setting.
Koshu houtou for houtou noodle a worthwhile experience.

We stayed in a Japanese room with Mt Fuji view and managed to get a fantastic view of the majestic mountain. The check in was quite fast. We self-drove and there was ample of free parking spaces. The hotel even provided trolley to bring baggage up to the room! I quite like their public bath and I was able to see the snow fall into the outdoor bath area, which was so magical. The room was comfortable even though it looks rather simple. There are a few supermarkets nearby, and Fuji-Q is very nearby.
You can’t beat the location to see all the tourist spots around Fujikawaguchiko and views of mt Fuji everyday! the shuttle too and from the train/bus station to the hotel was perfect as it runs every 20 mins or so and we used it multiple times a day with no issues. There is also a hop on hop off tourist bus that you can use to get around all the tourist spots, one of the stops is by the gemstone museum which is 2 mins walk from the hotel, which was perfect!
Absolutely lovely ryokan right next to the lake that has its own gender-separated indoor onsen. Has a very traditional Japanese feel and the owners are very friendly and accommodating. Amazing value for money. There's also a public park right next door that has views across the lake and also of Mt. Fuji. Bus stop nearby as well.
A wonderful place to stay! Shuttle bus pick up from station. Friendly, welcoming staff. Beautiful, traditional Japanese style room with a view of Mount Fuji on our arrival, and the lake. The hotel’s reception rooms were like a museum, all beautifully kept. We loved the onsen bath on the top floor, a special experience.
The staff was amazing and very kind, the location was great and we saw Mt. Fuji from our window!
The room offered traditional Japanese lifestyle, such as kimono, tatami, green tea and Japanese sweets.
We got early check-in to the room, and the parking was near the hotel.
