Minpaku Hiraizumi is fantastic. Location is less than 10mins from Hiraizumi station and everything in the town is within walking distance, except for Takkoku-no-iwaya for which you can try public transportation or rent a bike near the station.
The house is traditional Japanese but with modern amenities super nice and very comfortable. Room is spacious with an AC, remote controlled lights and a very comfortable futon bed.
The couple living there is lovely and of a rare kindness, truly embodying Japanese hospitality. When I stayed there it rained all day and they game me a lift to Takkoku-no-iwaya by car, patiently waiting for me visiting the location.
They prepare an amazing homemade traditional breakfast and were nice to chat with as well, available for anything I neeced. My time there was short but I can't recommend this place enough if you're in Hiraizumi.
