Stay at the hotel for three days. The hotel was not big, more like a boutique hotel. But had all you could need. At the lobby, they offer complimentary beverage and sweets. And late at night, complimentary ramen. Staff were friendly and made everything they could. Although we have problem with the language, I didn't speak Japanese, nor did they speak English, but they did their best. At the room, we also had complimentary beverages. Our last day breakfast was Japanese breakfast and was very good. And at check out, they gave us a little bag which had rice crackers, that was very kind from them.

I really recommend going to Kenrokuen Garden.

I really recommend going to Kenrokuen Garden. I’ve been travelling around Japan, and it’s probably one of the most beautiful gardens I’ve been to. Also I recommend going to Chigashi Chaya and Nishi Chaya. So traditional streets.

Kanazawa is my favourite city, So much to see and do and...

Kanazawa is my favourite city, So much to see and do and never enough time. KenRokuen gardens and castle are beautiful. Allow heaps of time.21st century museum is close and fascinating. The teahouse area and markets are really worth visiting, as are so many of the stops on the loop bus. A day ticket is Y800 and well worth the investment. Eateries and shops are everywhere and there are plenty of museums and other interesting places to visit.

Kanazawa is a gem!

Kanazawa is a gem! You have ancient streets with traditional streets that still feeling authentic and not too touristy. Lots of interesting museums (some are small, but full of history), a beautiful garden (probably the best in Japan) and fair restaurants prices. Skip Kyoto and come here!

Authenticity writ large.

Authenticity writ large. Beautifully maintained historic areas. Stunning gardens, interesting art. Visit the Suzuki museum if you are the meditative inclined - gorgeous walk from that into the main touritst gardens (which are sensational) and Castle (which will be gorgeous I'm sure buyt under extensive rebuild right now.

I spent 6 nights there. 5 would have been enough.

I spent 6 nights there. 5 would have been enough. I enjoyed the Gion area and walk up the mountain to 3 shrines. There is an Iris park on way which c was unexpected. Also very pleasant walks by the river. Kenrouken Gardens and Castle grounds lovely. Gardens crowded and it was very hot. I found the 20th century c art museum a bit ho hum. The Kanazawa Music Bar was terrific. Well worth a visit and good casual meals.

Three days in Kanazawa meant we could take our time, linger...

Three days in Kanazawa meant we could take our time, linger in areas we loved, try a few local crafts, soak in the history, and still have plenty of time to shop. Vacation is not for rushing through places! We did gold leaf art one day and Koga-yuzen dyeing, both of which were the perfect way to cool down and let our minds "Zen-out" with everything we were seeing and learning.

Excellent hotel close to Kanazawa station for all the sights, and round the corner from Omicho market which was fantastic! This is a modern twist on a ryokan - it feels like a hotel but is very boutique in nature and decorated Japanese style. The rooms are beautifully furnished, comfortable and have everything you need including a fantastic rainfall shower and comfortable beds. Free drinks, sweets, and food. The staff make you feel very welcome and the room is quiet. I can’t rate this place highly enough for the money we paid.

Everything about this hotel is great. Friendly and helpful staff. They had our bedroom ready hours before checkin with was so convenient! The rooms as super clean, comfortable and different from the rest of Japan, the rooms were big and spacious and the king bed was a treat!!! Wish we would have stay there more nights. The location is primo! They also have a gym, public baths included in the stay. Last but not least, a spa that have good prices. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Kanazawa!

Amazing hotel that goes so many extra miles. I couldn’t find anything negative to say even if I tried. Each aspect is absolutely top notch - the entire place is extremely clean, the staff is super nice and professional, and the rooms are created with such a good taste and perfectly mix the traditional Japanese, and the modern comfort. The breakfast and onsen are probably the highlights - you just have to experience them yourself. Overall, we just can’t wait to come back to Kanazawa to stay at this place.

Hotel Nikko is close to Kanazawa Station. It is a quiet hotel, very clean with attentive staff. Some of our travelling party ate at the Chinese restaurant and really enjoyed it. We had a comfortable room that was a good size.
