Very friendly staff, view from the window was amazing, the room was comfortable and clean. The washing machine was the cherry on top and we immediately fell in love with this hotel. close to all major attractions in the city. We didn't take a bus once ( apart from late hours after dag trips to nearby cities and temples ). Thank you Tokyu Stay staff for a wonderful experience

Wonderful old areas with Kenroku-en the highlight, but Higashi Chaya and Omicho market also excellent, as well as the castle grounds. Strongly recommend visiting the Noto peninsula, where tourists will be most welcome as they recover from the 2024 earthquake.

Kanazawa it’s a nice place to visit! With an amazing park! It’s different from a big city but still very beautiful with some things to see and to do! We did also tea ceremony there and tried some local specialties.

Kanazawa has such a lot to see and do - from the castle, to the famous Kenroku-en gardens, lovely old shopping district, cafes and restaurants, its a wonderful place to relax for a few days.
We rented a car which was very easy to do and made day trips more convenient.

I would recommend Kanazawa as part of a journey around Honshu...we travelled Tokyo->Kyoyo->Nara->Kanazawa->Nagano->Obuse->Tokyo over two weeks, all by train. In Kanazawa, we enjoyed the gardens (tea in the traditional tea-house in Kenrokuen Garden was a particular treat), the geisha district, the national crafts museum (recently relocated from Tokyo) and shopping for Japanese pottery. The loop bus makes it easy to visit anywhere in the city if you don't feel like walking.

Visiting Kanazawa during cherry blossom season is a great choice—Kenrokuen and the Hyakumangoku Road offer spectacular views when the sakura are in full bloom. Just make sure to visit on a sunny day to enjoy it at its best.
The city is rich in Edo-period heritage, and its preserved districts are much larger and more authentic than many temple-front towns. However, there are quite a lot of foreign tourists who may not fully understand the cultural context, which can sometimes affect the atmosphere.

All the amenities you want from a Tokyo/Osaka in terms of shopping/food culture with pockets of old world charm like Kyoto. But without nearly the same type of crowd. Great launching home base for exploring up/down the West coast of Japan as well by car or transit.

Kaname Inn is in an excellent location and is able to provide rooms of multiple configurations so can cater for groups of travellers. We travelled to Kanazawa to visit the famous Japanese garden there and this hotel is a short walk from them. It was also extremely easy to navigate Kanazawa by bus and the hotel is a 1 minute walk from the main bus routes. The hotel has a fabulous and well known cocktail bar and restaurant where they make outstanding cocktails. The ambience in the bar is elevated by the well curated music library they have.
Location of hotel is amazing, the station is nearby. The staff was super nice and English was not a problem. Room was huge and had all the things you need, what was strange that they didn't offer pyjamas which is normal to have in each hotel which I visited in Japan. Breakfast was fabulous I had to order it as extra though it was worth it it had Japanese, western kitchens everything that you need. You can find a lot of food places near by. I will book this hotel again if I will come back to Kanazawa.
This was my second stay at Kanazawa Manten Hotel Ekimae. You should definitely choose it for the location, 5 minutes walk from Kanazawa train station, and for the onsen, very big and clean, there is also a sauna and an outdoor bath. Not to mention the breakfast, you can choose between a Japanese or Western breakfast and both are delicious. There are also coin lockers for luggage and a coin laundry, very useful.
This charming hotel is in the perfect location in beautiful Kanazawa — right behind Omicho Market and just a 15-20 minute walk from the station and all main sights. The hotel itself is gorgeous, with spacious, comfortable rooms in traditional Japanese style. The staff couldn’t have been kinder or more helpful. A total gem of a place to stay!
Great location close to Kanazawa station and major attractions.
Room was spacious compared to other hotels in Japan at a similar price range.
Everything was super clean and modern looking.
