Open from April 2015, Hotel Gracery Shinjuku offers comfortable rooms, free WiFi and a restaurant, only a 5-minute walk from JR Shinjuku Station’s east exit. Seibu Shinjuku Station is a 3-minute walk....

The staff were so helpful- went above and beyond and were so kind about it. Really cool to be on the doorstop of Shinjuku but still felt away from it when in the hotel.

Boasting 7 food and beverage options, and its own aquarium, Prince Hotel is right next to JR Shinagawa Train Station, from where Haneda Airport is only a 25-minute train ride away.

The hotel was very clean and conveniently located just across the street from Shinagawa Station—only 20 minutes from Haneda Airport. There are plenty of facilities within the hotel itself, including restaurants, bars, cafés, shops, ATMs, and a currency exchange machine... etc. However, the hotel is massive, with three separate towers and a constant buzz of people. The rooms are clean but a bit dated. Breakfast at the buffet restaurant can be quite a challenge, as it gets extremely crowded with thousands of visitors at once. Overall, our experience was good and the value was good for the money.

FAQs about hotels in Tokyo

See It to Believe It!

The capital of Japan, Tokyo is a vast, teeming metropolis nestled between mountains and Tokyo Bay. It’s so huge that you’ll have to come to grips with public transport and maybe even experience being pushed onto a train. Yes, it does actually happen!

Get your bearings by ascending the Tokyo World Trade Centre near the waterfront, and savour the fantastic views taking in the red-and-white Tokyo Tower and Shinkuju’s skyscrapers. North is Ueno, home to the best museums (including the Tokyo National Museum) and a large park bursting with cherry blossom in spring.

Equally tranquil are the Chiyoda Imperial Palace and Gardens, surrounded by water. Also in gardens is the Meiji Jingu Shinto shrine in Shibuya, a youthful district where neon abounds.

For more traditional Japanese culture, head to Asakusa whose Sensō-ji Buddhist temple is Tokyo’s oldest temple. Markets in the grounds sell a variety of wares, though shopping in Tokyo is, of course, fantastic wherever you go.

Whether you stay in a Japanese ryokan, luxury Tokyo hotel or a hostel, don’t fly out of Tokyo Narita Airport or Haneda Airport without having tried sushi. Another Japanese institution is the sento (public bath) and onsen (hot springs bath) – a must try. Also incredibly popular are Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, Asia’s 2 most visited theme parks.

It was my second time in Tokyo in 6 months, and you can bet that I'm coming back in October! It's a fantastic place to be, see and visit and there's always something fun and interesting to see, taste or do. The BEST place in the World!

Tokyo has truly stolen a piece of my heart.

Tokyo has truly stolen a piece of my heart. I’ve been fortunate to visit three times, and each experience has been nothing short of amazing. The city is a perfect blend of tradition and innovation, with a culture that’s rich, respectful, and deeply inspiring. From the hospitality of the people to the vibrant food scene and impeccable attention to detail in every corner, Tokyo continues to captivate me. I’m endlessly drawn to its energy, beauty, and grace—Japan is a place I will always return to with love and admiration.

Amazing city, so much to see and do, is great for couples, friends and families. The food is great, coffeeshop and restaurant are spot on. Besides that, the calmness and beautiful gardens, omg. I loved to just walk around, go to the tiny streets and get surprised. I dont recommend buy souvenirs on Don Quijote, I found much better prices in small shops around the city (Tokyo Tower, Ueno, et).

    What a city!

What a city! On our trip to Japan, we travelled in and out of Tokyo, with a few nights in the city at either end. And they just weren't enough. There is way too much to see and do and absorb. Take money, comfortable shoes and plenty of space in your luggage!

For a mega world city, Tokyo offers so many opportunities...

For a mega world city, Tokyo offers so many opportunities for quiet, contemplation (in green, neighbourhood and urban settings), comfortable and fascinating walking. The people we met were a mix of shy and friendly, but were always courteous, and we additionally experienced many kind interactions with local people. There are untold opportunities for delicious wining & dining, and the city has a very interesting emerging coffee culture, and so much creativity overall, and of course lots of living history to experience. Getting around on the trains is a dream - they are clean, quiet, fast and efficient, and information is available in English and Japanese, and Google Maps provides excellent way-finding guidance. And finally, while it is not all beautiful, there are so many moments of utmost beauty that uplift the ordinary and highlight Japan's aesthetic approach to life.

Fascinating city. Clean, safe, brilliant metro.

Fascinating city. Clean, safe, brilliant metro. Although an enormous city it rarely feels overcrowded..it’s more like 10–15 cities in one, each metro station exposing a different urban environment. People super polite and the non tipping culture a real delight. Everything is done to the highest standard food, shops, design and style. The legendary Japanese efficiency and attention to detail evident at all levels.

Second mimaru property we stayed at in Tokyo. We really liked the last one (Ueno east) but liked this even more. The room was more spacious, very spacious by Tokyo standards. Same comfy beds and helpful friendly staff. The location was good - very close to station on the Oedo line which runs across to the east side for Asakusa and Ueno, as well as being close to the west side neighbourhoods. The immediate neighbourhood was office towers and tall hotels, but plenty of services and close to livelier parts of Shinjuku as well.

Great stay for a few days in Tokyo. The relaxed neighborhood in Asakusa was perfect for us. Asakusa Shrine, shopping streets, various food options and Sumida Park are all within walking distance. Public trasport is just a 5-min walk away providing easy access to the airport and all city spots like Shibuya, Shinjuku, Akihabara.... The common area in the hotel was great with free tea and coffee, as well as pastries in the morning. Laundry facilities were avalabile. We would come back again!

Perfect location, 1 min walk to Oedo line Higashi Shinjuku, 12 min walk to JR Shinjuku, can easily get to anywhere by train or bus. Also, the room is quite clean. Even besides a main road in downtown, the inside is quiet once the door is closed. The queen bed is soft. I booked this room for my family to stay. They are satisfied with the fully equipped desgin. The hotel provide every utensils needed.

We had a very nice stay at Super Hotel Otsuka. The location is in a quieter part of Tokyo, but easily accessible to other areas like Shinjuku and Shibuya by train. The hotel offered a complementary breakfast each morning as well as a free bar for a few hours at night. The rooms are small, but it's what you expect if you've stayed in similar hotels in Tokyo before. We would definitely stay again.

Very good hotel in an excellent location linking Shinjuku and Harujuku / Shibuya either by walking or by train. Located on the southern side of Shinjuku Station meant you were close to main attractions but in a quieter spot. Short walks to main shrines and gardens/parks in area but also easy access to rest of Tokyo. We spent seven nights here and it is ideal.
