Breakfast was really good! We were able to eat ans enjoy a beautiful view of Wakayama castle and daily wakayama life. Foods are delicious and we got to make our own ramen and see omurice cook right in front of us. All staffs are so kind!

We had an amazing and awesome experience at Wakayama Urban Hotel. First and foremost, the staff at the front desk were very kind and professional - top notch. The hotel feel was very luxurious. The room size was good. Another bonus - the hotel is only 5 min walk to a decent-size supermarket. Breakfast was served on a second floor. We found our breakfast time was super relaxing - probably the music they played, the luxurious setting, or the open view to the lobby we don't know...- just simply incredible!!!

Clean and simple with all the essentials

Great hotel just a couple blocks from Wakayama Station. I only stayed one night and chose it for the proximity to the train station, but for a solo traveler, the room design was perfect, nice little sitting area, big window and a lot of natural light, all the amenities you could possibly need, quality pajamas and sandals, and extra towels, which I always appreciate. Onsen open both late and early (my train was delayed by a typhoon so I didn’t arrive until 1am and the onsen was still open). Staff was kind, friendly and efficient, especially considering my super late arrival. There were laundry facilities and vending machines. At first I thought the bed seemed firm but I slept great. Breakfast was really nice, if you’re trying to eat healthy there was a big bowl of fresh lettuce, plus steamed broccoli and tomatoes for salad, grilled sardines, eggs, miso soup and pickled vegetables. But also sausage and pastries and fun stuff like that. Breakfast started at 6:30am, so helpful if you have an early train. I would absolutely stay here again!

Our room with a view of the harbor was awesome! Nice entry way, large seating/sofa area with TV was great. The beds were comfortable and enough away from the seating area that made it very pleasant. The large bathroom was just as awesome. It was very neat and clean. Staff members were pleasant and helpful. The breakfast buffet was good, but the assortment of umeboshi made it great. We weren’t planning to go to the amusement park, but it was very kind of the hotel to let us know it would be closed on the day of our visit.

I got the cheapest room available during that time and still had an incredible view. Smile hotels made my time in the cities during my trip in Japan a lot better than expected. Great value. And the free bicycle renting service was such a bonus for me.

Near train station like 10 mins walk. Was given free masks per night which is good gesture.

Extremely conveniently located with nice amenities and friendly staff. Right next to the train station and close to lots of restaurants. The room was very comfortable as well!

This was one of the best hotels we've stayed at during our trip in Japan. The room was huge, it had all kinds of creams, shower gels and hair products. It was super clean, had central heating which was nice in the winter. The bed was large and really comfortable. The bathroom was also great and clean. The people in the reception were very nice and recommended a great restaurant for dinner. Overall, the hotel had a really good value for money, we had an amazing stay and would definitely return.

Free parking with spacious room. Well equipped with TV, washlet, and some free fruits for you to enjoy during the stay. Staff are so kind and helpful as well.

It's a small ryokan not much to be expected but, on a budget and need a place to rest i'd say worth. Plus it makes you feel like you're staying at home and not a hotel
