Almaty is a beautiful city, full of trees.
Almaty is a beautiful city, full of trees. We travel in October which happened to be autumn. The diversity of colors in the trees, never seen anything like it. Full of coffee shops and restaurant with food from every part of the world. People is super friendly, very trendy and because it has many universities, Almaty is full of young people. Is perfect if you miss nature. We will definitely come back in winter for skiing 🫶

The town itself can be done in a day if not going into theatres etc. If visiting outside town, allocated a day for east, one for west. Apparently big almaty lake is closed, but taxi is offering ride so do your research. Even with app, taxi driver can closed it down so you cannot continue tracking pricing. Also, it seems that toilet need payment so carry small change, or buy a drink from cafe and use theirs if they have one. Carryba scarf for lady, some places need head covering to enter.

The people of Almaty can't care less about tourists.
The people of Almaty can't care less about tourists. Imagine at restaurants instead of putting the plate down on the table they literally throw it at you. Hotel receptionists can't care less about you. Yandex drivers have the worst manner. And while driving better brace for your life. The way they switch lanes for no reason and they dont care about pedestrians is crazy.
Dont get scammed at green bazar. For a 100gr of dried fruit the guy wanted to charge us 15000 KZT after I said I'm leaving he said 3000 KZT I'm sure I still paid tourist price.
All in all the worst trip of my life. Not coming back.

As people don’t speak English it’s really difficult to understand & get guidance . Generally didn’t find people very hospitable / welcoming in Almaty & surroundings .location of hotel was good so we could walk around Dostyk & nearby .

Almatay was a good city, however the get your guide trip...
Almatay was a good city, however the get your guide trip from the city to Big almatay lake was booked through a mismanaged tour operator and they spoiled our whole day. If you have motion sickness and mountain sickness, the lake tours are not for you .

Almaty is a lovely city with a lot of trees and parks. The natures look stunning in it's unique way. I travelled with 4 friends doing 6 days roadtrip. Driving outside the city is super chill and the views are so beautiful. However, driving in the city might make you anxious because people always honk the horn lol and you have to make a u-turn at the intersection or at the place you are too scared to make a u-turn haha. Also, you cannot pay for the parking on your own. you need to ask your car rental agent to pay it for you because only the local bank can pay.

I had a wonderful stay at Koksay Hotel. The room is newly furnished, spacious and clean. The host is extremely helpful and kind (helping me via WhatsApp both before and during and stay). The WiFi is strong, there’s a kettle in the room and I had access to the refrigerator.
It is located out of town but there is a shop nearby selling all convenience goods, and also a couple of stalls to buy fruit/vegetables and bread. There is a mall 3kms away. Would recommend if you’re looking to experience a residential part of Kazakhstan.

After my 3 trips to Almaty this hotel turned to be the best of all. It's indeed top notch, comparable to nice chain hotels in the USA. They have very polite wonderful classy looking personnel, tending to your needs, super clean, freshly remodeled and nicely furnished rooms, a really delicious breakfast with a lot of varieties and the prettiest ever lobby and breakfast room. I absolutely enjoyed my stay there!

Very nice hotel in Almaty. It has an excellent location and the personnel attention was fantastic. it also has a very good breakfast with a variety of products. They prepared us a packed lunch on our last day as we left the hotel very early.
It was also very clean. It is a real 4 star hotel.

I liked the overall atmosphere of the hotel. It’s really peaceful there. You can literally study in the hallway for hours. But I was there for just to explore Almaty so I didn’t get to use all the services there. I can say it’s the best capsule hotel I ever been to!
