Lovely adventure spot nestled among beautiful karst mountains, sinkhole swiming spots and limestone caves. The town itself is nothing remarkable but does have a lot of young traveler energy, which is fun.

The landscape and settings are great.
The landscape and settings are great. You can get there with the new fast train. The Chinese built the train stations and they all are far away from town, not sure why. Vang Vieng is very popular with fun sports very young people including lots of Brits and Aussies. Not the best food I had, try out GOAT for Vietnamese.

It has a good night street food central to many hostels.
It has a good night street food central to many hostels. Nature, including the river and mountains, they are great. Moreover the tours you must be careful about which ones you pick the prices are generally similar but many of them are different they use different areas for particular activities like zip lining or the blue pool they are actually like five Blue pools don't go to number one because it's very small and it has a ton of people that is quote the cheapest pool to go to. So ask to see pictures of their different things because as you can see there are different company names like wonderful or Jackie or seven or whatever there are tons of them and they have their own teams and they run their own thing some are better than others and I went to one from seven and it was okay well isn't the greatest experience but it was okay.

This is a popular destination for backpackers and young people. There is no shortage of bars, restaurants, and food carts. There are many types of recreational activities and tour operators but it’s easy to reach hiking trails and lagoons on your own. Phangeun - Silver Cliff - was worth the hike!

We stayed there for about one week and tried also two hotels in this time.
Vang Vieng is very beautil und it takes a while to discover the different beautiful places here. Best option is to rent a motorcycle. And for some view points you have to be an well physical condition to reach them.
In Vang Vieng we tried a lot of restaurants and different food and just one restaurant was very disappointing for my Lao wife and me...
We liked the Namphet Restaurant.. its a bit hidden behin a bridge.. but you will have a beautival view to the river and very good food..
what we didnt like was the behaviour of this crowds of chinese tourists.. they behave like laos is disneyworld

General a nice town with lots of restaurants, bars and a really nice nature around. BUT: totally overrun by tourists, especially Chinese. Cycling to the hills outside town will result in lots of traffic due to hundreds of stinky, rectles buggys and vans shutteling tourists from lagoon to lagoon. The lagoons are overfilled with people, the river with kayaks.
Once you arrived a Hill to climb or a cave to explore, it gets much quieter.
All in all: Beautiful nature around town once you reach it, but be ready to deal with mass tourism.
Best restaurant we have stayed in 2 months travelling through southeast asia. Every single area in the hotel is extremely well maintained, even after the covid period. The rooms were large, very confortable and spotless clean. The staff was really noce and spoke perfect english. The restaurant is simply the best you can find in Vang Vieng, both the breakfast (plenty of diversity and great quality) and the a la carte meals fpr the lunch/dinner (great price for the quality of the meals).

Spacious and clean room.
Good localized, 10min from night market, and aroud there are restaurants.
Swimming pool was nice and fresh but is share with other hotels.
Lundry service in front for 15.000/kg.
The prices of BUS from hotel to SOUTH LAOS are cheaper than in others. (Unlucky we didn't take with them).
Very good Quality/price i payed.
We stayed for 2 nights at the Confetti Garden hotel. The rooms are clean and the shower was fantastic, the best we have had in Laos. The buffet breakfast had lots of options, including freshly brewed coffee to order, and eggs to order. The roof top bar is lovely for a great sunset view and the prices for drinks and food are very good . The hotel is only a few minutes walk to the night market, many restaurants and the river. I would come back stay here again.
Moved from another hostel in town which was quiet empty and not very social. Definitely one of the best hostels I've been in 4 months backpacking SEA. The owners are ex backpackers with lots of tips for Laos and also other countries. Easy to book transport. Good value food at the restaurant and bar has happy hour every day with free drinks. Swimming pool with all day sun.
Very social atmosphere at night, music stops around 23pm
We stayed in Vang Vieng for a week in serveral hotels and Camellia was the best with great services. Hotel itself located in the center of town. Reserved some tours with hotel, all were good.
Quick laundry and very clean. Staff took care of us and helped us to store some bags when we went to LBP by train. Breakfast was optional to order, not much but enough for us, tasty fresh fruits.
Strongly recommend
Vang vieng Champa a small hotel and new. Room clean, big and comfortable bed. we like this place very quiet at night can walk to visit all things in vangvieng. Ben was special he will help everything you needed. Fesh and big breakfast . This place was best room and breakfast we got at Laos but much cheaper than Luangprabang and Vientiane. good choise at Vang vieng.
Very nice and clean hotel with good rooms. The breakfast was good enough for a small hotel offering cheap price. The location is super. Good staff available most of the time and super helpful. They helped us to book activities, scooter and gave us some tips about what to do in Vang Vieng. Thank You. A great hotel to stay in Vang Vieng. I recommend it.
Just the best stay ever!!! The Staff were brilliant and super friendly, they went above and beyond to help us with any questions or booking any tours/transportation. The hotel itself is sooo clean and great facilities, the location ideal. Very peaceful place and close to all places of attraction. Thank you so much for the perfect time in Vang Vieng!
This was one of the best value hotels we have stayed in whilst in Laos! The couple who run it are super friendly and helpful, the location is perfect and breakfast is included which is a huge plus. The room was really nice and clean, the bed was also comfortable & the ac and hot water worked great. Highly recommend!
The highlight is the included breakfast which is the best I ever had in a hostel. You get a choice of several options and a big bowl of fruit.
The staff is very nice and always ready to help you plan your stay in vang vieng. The beds are comfortable and the rooms stay dark which is nice for a sleep in.
Good value
my recent stay at Vang Vieng Central Hotel was absolutely delightful. The location couldn't be better, right in the heart of Vang Vieng with easy access to all the attractions. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, always ready to assist with any queries or requests!
Clean and comfortable. It's not the best hostel in Laos that i have stayed in, but compared in Vangvieng it is the best choice in this time. Large and nice common area, clean swimming pool. Comfortable bed and pillows. Bed with curtain, safety box. Door with access key.
The best place in all of Laos, the most worth the price. Central location and quiet rooms. WiFi is excellent. Varied and excellent breakfast. And above all the amazing and helpful staff. I would recommend this place to everyone,
Probably the best place to stay in Vang Vieng Great staff and good breakfast menu! Stays up till decent hours and helps in everything you would need around Vang Vieng.
This hostel was amazing and I cannot recommend it enough
Such a great experience at this hostel. The staff are so friendly and kind. Clean & nice. 2 guys who works at reception was so helpful, they let me leave my big luggage while I was around Laos until I came back to pick it up.
This is the best place we got at Laos. Hotel was located abit away from noise area take 5-7 minutes walk to pub,restaurant.. 300-400m walk for quiet and clean place we happy to walk. Hot water good also big bathroom.
