We liked the charm of the old building but with all the modern fixtures. Lots of free parking space in the spacious garage for those with a car. The most impressive feature has to be the sunbathing area right next to the sea right in front of this small hotel. It also has its own pool. There is a regular bus service into Kotor old town, only costing 1.5 euro per person.

Really enjoyed the old town and a walk up to St Johns Fortress which was free at this time of the year. Also because we had a car we also visited Przno and Sveti Stefan which were worth a day trip. Lots of options for eating. It was more expensive than we expected for food and drink... even to shop at the supermarket and cook at home was similar to pricing in New Zealand or even a bit more.

Nice lake coastal town, Old town has its own charm, lot of grocery options nearby who want to cook, plethora of restaurants and food options including take away and dine-in as you prefer. Montenegro is quite economical as compared to rest of EU.

Kotor is one of the most beautiful places I’ve visited.

Kotor is one of the most beautiful places I’ve visited. The entire old town is compact and easily walkable, which makes exploring really enjoyable and stress-free. I visited during the off-peak season, and it was perfect for a quiet, relaxed experience without the crowds, something I’d highly recommend. Despite the calm atmosphere, there’s still so much to do, see, and eat, from charming cafes to local seafood spots. One of the highlights for me was the boat ride around the bay. It’s not just scenic; it’s also really informative, explaining the area's history, how different sites were built, and how they were used during World War II. Another must-do is the short trek up to the fortress above the city. The climb is totally worth it for the incredible panoramic views over Kotor and the bay, honestly, one of the best viewpoints I’ve experienced. I also loved wandering through the narrow cobbled streets of the old town, discovering hidden squares, historic churches, and little shops along the way. The mix of history, nature, and peaceful vibes makes it really special.

Kotor has a very interesting Old Town located beneath an imposing fortress with fantastic views. It has gorgeous Cathedral of Kotor wih several smaller churches and chapels and a beautiful and large Serbian Orthodox Church from the beginning of 20th century. In the Old Town there is also a Maritime Museum, which is particularly recommended to visit. Nearby the Old Town is a small harbour where you can see beautiful sailboats. The town is pretty clean, but it needs more green spaces and trees. Also, there is a lack of quality promotional materials, guides and catalogues when it comes to churches, museums and other famous buildings in Kotor. Kotor is well connected by bus lines to other historically interesting cities nearby.

Lovely city.

Lovely city. Beautiful and you can explore it as much or as little as you like. Beautiful scenery. Not fully pushchair friendly though. But it is an old town that was built long before pushchairs were invented. We did a day exploring with baby in the pushchair and then another day with the baby in the carrier so we could access more areas. Loads of shops, places to eat and drink. Been for the last 3 years in a row because we love it so much.

Pricey for a Balkan country, but they are on the Euro.

Pricey for a Balkan country, but they are on the Euro. Riding a bike around the bay is a nice way to spend 5 hours. The Old Town area can be in a day. If you go to the castle add more time. You can use Kotor as a base to visit other beach towns and nature excursions. When I was there, construction was being done on the main road south of Kotor making the ride longer than normal.

Our room was tastefully decorated with some wonderful period pieces and very clean. The staff were friendly and helped us up the steps with our luggage. Breakfast was very good and the hotel had some lovely tables outside in the courtyard - weather permitting. The location for visiting the sites of the Old Town was perfect. We used their private parking lot, which was located just outside the Old Town walls.

Although it's not a five-star hotel there is everything you need during your holiday. It's a very clean and well equipped accomodation, which is located close to the Old town. It's perfect to explore Montenegro. Easy to park with cars. The host is very polite and helpful. He even bought a coffee machine for us to use it during our holiday. And he helped us to find the apartment. I really come back again.
