19 Rooms is an amazing place not far from the centre of Valletta. It’s worth staying for the rooftop area where they provide free wine from 6-8pm! You can get a nice view of the harbour and also the cathedral. Room was spacious, and had everything you need. Breakfast was great and contained local food which is what I always want when travelling as it saves time trying to find certain foods when you can just have it at the hotel! The staff are really friendly and it’s that good, we’re staying there again for another night on this trip.

    Valletta was beautiful and overall very welcoming.

    Valletta was beautiful and overall very welcoming. One aspect that took us by surprise was the (at least) twice daily firework barrages! We undertsood from a waiter that they go on from April through October. Nothing that our property owner could do about and is a tradition across Malta and Gozo but could be distressing for some.

    Do not stay here!

    Do not stay here! Bar closed two nights for a private function. Air con is set to 21C, doesn't go colder (cue awful nights sleep), fridge doesn't work. Cleaners stole 150 euro and helped themselves to food in the room - actually caught her doing this. Hotel reception just laugh when you complain. Lobby smells of drains, flies in the room. Pool is dirty, mouldy, with cloudy water. Location is ok but breakfast is mediocre. What an absolute shame.

    People was charming and friendly, the food was excellent, the views breathtaking. Only serious drawback was climbing all those damn stairs to Merchant Street, where most of the restaurants are. On our last day we discovered there's a lift we could have used. Wish we'd known that sooner!

    It is easily accessible but a degree of fitness is required for the steps and elevations. Many restaurants and food providers made this trip most enjoyable. We used the local buses from the airport to the city gates as well as to St Pauls Bay and Mdina. We took the ferry to Sliema. Mainly we just walked. BTW excellent gelato!!! Do not miss the artworks in St John's Co-Cathedral and the Malta Experience

    Valletta is a wonderful city with various interesting places to see and do, even venturing further out is no issue as the island is small . People are lovely and the food is even better. Favourite destination.

    Public transport is great to travel to other parts of the island. Loads of great bars and restaurants. Felt very safe at all times. A nice city if you are fit and able to walk up very steep hills. No nearby beaches. Half decent beaches are a bus or boat ride away and very crowded. Lots of plastic and debris in the sea (Golden Bay) and litter on the sand. Lots of very run down and derelict property. Too many cars allowed on very narrow city centre streets. Very steep hills and totally unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues. Little in the way of choice to buy fresh produce. You have to travel to buy fresh fish. Limited choice of meat in the 2 supermarkets but pricing was very fair. On reflection 4 days is enough for sightseeing. If you want a beach holiday, go to a different location.

    The hotel has the wow factor when you enter. The staff are extremely friendly and professional. The breakfast buffet was superb. Only a 10 minute walk to the city centre. Our room was extremely spacious, clean and comfortable. The only reason we did not rate the hotel 10, is that it could do with a little up dating but this did not detract from an excellent stay.

    I like the location as it is very near the Valletta city centre and accessible to places of interest. The staff were also very helpful and attentive, particularly Ana. The hotel is also very clean and well maintained. If I go back to Malta, I will definitely book the same hotel.
