The hotel is in an excellent location right in the center of Alkmaar, within walking distance of restaurants, shops, and the train station. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The staff were friendly and made the check-in process smooth.

Very spacious rooom for the price, good beds, clean bathroom containing both a bath and a shower. Apart from that, my room had an amazing view, definitely want staying here again if I visit Alkmaar again.

I'll start by saying the staff are all awesome. The hotel is interesting, being a former penitenciary and its facilities are nice, the breakfeast is good, restaurant is nice and they have a variety of beers. There are some nice parks near it and even a small zoo. If I ever have business in Alkmaar, I will return in the future here.

The studio was large. The beds big and comfortable. Quiet place although the train station is few tens of meters away. Easy to get there. Staff pleasant and helpful. The design of the studio was unique, the furniture itself was nice, and the geometry was also specific. The room is not strictly rectangular. That was adding some visual effects to the bed.

I like the provided breakfast prepared on ones preferences. The staff is very kind. Room and bathroom are comfortable and clean. Room comes with a mini fridge.

Excellent location near the main square. Big, spacious room.

We were right in the town Plaza area and on the canal. The breakfast was great for €19.50 each. This area is much calmer for traffic of all kinds than Amsterdam so it was a nice, easy side trip. Very convenient to Beer 🍺 and Cheese 🧀 Museums.

An approximate 11 minute walk from the train station, the room is above the Hofman restaurant where one checks in and out. The staff were cheerful and helpful. The Dutch stairs up to the room were expected and were fairly steep but was only one floor up so you should factor this in the equation. It is directly across from the beautiful and historic Grote Sint-Laurenskerk (Saint Laurens church) at which the pedestrian-only street, full of shops and restaurants, starts. The main square which features the famous Friday cheese market is a few minutes away. Although the church bells went off all night (there were free ear plugs in the room), street and restaurant noise was never an issue. The room was plenty big with a comfortable bed and nice sized bathroom with a spacious shower and good water pressure and hot water. A large grocery store was around the corner.

The location is great for walking and exploring. The gasterij has good food and drink options, nice terrace nearby too. The beds were comfy.

The attention to detail in the room and the breakfast served were the highlights of our stay. The staff was very friendly, check-in/check-out procedure smooth. We would definitely stay there again.

Very very nice owner lady, friendly and helpful. Great location, few minutes by walking from the center of the village and beautiful huge park. Very nice, cozy and bright house and room. Full of interesting art and design pieces. The room was good size, very clean and tidy. It's nice that we could adjust the temperature in the room. Huge shower. The kitchen/living area is large and has everything you need ans there is a coffee machine too. Good size parking space. Amazing value for money

The room was bright and clean with windows that opened over the street and canal below. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The lobby is a coffee shop and offers an a la carte menu for breakfast. The location is within close walking distance to all of the restaurants, pubs and shopping, but far enough away to feel quiet and secluded. It was a little over 1K walk from the train station to the hotel. Alkmaar station has buses and trains that go every direction, so easy to get to and from on mass transportation.

If we go to Bergen we always stay on Marijke. It has a charm even if the facility may need some renovations
