This was my third stay at Haarhuis, but my first in the Royal Loft. The suite was well lit, beautifully decorated, and well equipped. Breakfast was rich and fresh. And the staff was extremely kind and helpful. Even though I arrived a few hours before check-in, they immediately gave me the key and checked me in with no extra charge (it was a Saturday). All through the stay, they went the extra mile to make me, my daughter and her friend happy.

I love Arnhem. You get the big city mixed with nature.

I love Arnhem. You get the big city mixed with nature. They have so much to offer: the zoo (a must), the open-air museum (truly a great way to see history live. One of the best I've ever seen), the national park (breathtaking; they offer free white bikes that you can use to ride through the park), the Kröller Müller museum (art museum and sculpture park with a ton of Van Gogh pieces and other astounding works in the heart of the national park), and the downtown itself has so many unique shops and cafes.

Easy to find way around, excellent buses for public...

Easy to find way around, excellent buses for public transport but remember as elsewhere in Netherlands, its all done on card swipe in/swipe out, no cash accepted. Most things likley to be of interest are at most a bus or short train ride away. Again, surburban stations only operate on card payments and validate ticket before you get on train. Arnhem has a long history, lots more to it than 'just' 1944-45. Many good quality individually owned shops. A very friendly place and esp. if you are British or Polish .People here remember and respect memories. If you want English language books on 1944, recommend the book shop/post office onthe Oosterbrook crossroads in row of shops on south side. Very helpful and friendly staff.

I know Arnhem well and this stay was a one night break of of...

I know Arnhem well and this stay was a one night break of of a long distance train journey via German railways..... As for the city, if you're a military history buff, then the World War Two battle locations and small museum will be of interest. Otherwise, it's a fairly standard Dutch city, though unsurprisingly badly damaged during the war; worthy of maybe a day browsing around.

it was very sad to see the awful destruction what had happened to the town and the people in 1945 as to how it looks in the present day it needs people to come and understand what can happen when evil monsters are in control

We wanted to visit the John Frost bridge and travelled by car. Great to visit and lots to see. Be aware that there is a ultra low emission zone in the centre so if travelling in an older vehicle please be mindful of this.

I loved seeing the Sabelspoort - a very interesting old castle gate near my hotel! It was a very pleasant walk to and from my hotel, through Sabelspoort to the many nice restaurants. It felt very safe and tranquil.
