The apartment was beautiful, and very spacious to travel with kids. The kitchen was very handy. And their breakfast spread and timings were also very good and relaxed. It was also in the middle of the city, so - everything was just a stone's throw away.

Groningen was a fantastic city to visit with a really friendly and welcoming vibe. The atmosphere throughout the city felt lively but relaxed, and we felt comfortable exploring day and night. I’d definitely recommend visiting the main square, as it’s full of energy with plenty of bars, restaurants, and things to see. That said, it’s also worth wandering a little further out to discover some of the smaller bars and hidden gems, which gave the city even more character. If you get the chance, try to catch a Netherlands match while you’re there — the atmosphere was incredible and made the trip even more memorable. Overall, a brilliant city with lots of charm, great nightlife, and a really enjoyable atmosphere.

The city is awesome!

The city is awesome! It was vibrant and friendly with some nice restaurants a great library (the Forum) and a beautiful canal with charming houseboats. I loved the style of the houses, walking all around the city. The Harbour Cafe was a great place to eat. We really enjoyed our time in Groningen. Unfortunately, my father was ill so we didn't do as much sightseeing as I would have liked, but even so, it was really fun. We also visited Bourtagne, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it.

It is a relatively large Ducth city.

It is a relatively large Ducth city. It has everything one would expect from a big city. It hosts two universities. Altough almost everything is structured around university students, there is a lot to do and see. Saying that one should not have expectations of a city, similar to Amsterdam or Rotterdam. The advantage is that it is compact, almost everywhere is within walking distance, people are very well educated. The only thing to keep in mind is the weather full of surprises...

It was a delightful city to visit.

It was a delightful city to visit. It was easy to get around. We walked everywhere. The food was really good. Our hotel was central and not over-priced. The clothes shopping was terrific and centrally located. The city was immaculately clean, and in this regard it far exceeded Amsterdam which was flithy. The citizens obviously take great pride in their city, as they have obviously decided the city should not be a glaring mass of neon lights above shops. This ensured that the tourists see the architecture of the city, and not horrible signs.

This is a great city, almost without tourists. Very young, many students on the streets. It is also a bycicle town. A beautiful park in the middle of the city. Lots of cafes and restaurants. Visit the local museum, it is really good.

The hotel is superbly located in the centre of town right on the Grote Markt and next to the Martini Toren and provides great access to shops, restaurants and attractions. The facilities are of a very high standard. The rooms are spacious with beautiful lighting, have a coffee / tea station with a Nespresso machine (with supplies), excellent shower and a novel glass wardrobe, and the Wi-Fi works seamlessly at decent speed. Breakfast is a feast. The Willem Albert Cafe serves excellent coffee, and food. The staff are great.

Comfortable hotel in the middle of the city centre. Easy to reach to main square, less than 5 minutes away by foot. Has very good connections to the transport system. Room was very comfortable, with tea/coffee making facilities. Cleaning typically occurs every three days, however, one can opt to have the rooms cleaned daily. Varied breakfast offered every morning.

The hostel is actually an annex of Martini Hotel placed close to the city center. The rooms were clean a little bit small for my taste, minimally equipped, but maybe this is the norm for hostel, I assume.nexx
