One of the finest hotels we have ever stayed in. Incredible amount of $$ spent to beautifully renovate a church. Unique in so many ways. Must see it to believe it. Cherish at the front desk went out of her way to help us with a serious issue with the river cruise company. She made several calls and saved us from real problems. Rooms were perfect. It is impossible for me to rate everything higher. It was incredible!!!!!

This cozy little room was perfect for us as two cycling friends. The room was very clean, with two single beds. One of our favourite features was having a rooftop window that allowed the room to cool very quickly and provided some fresh cool air. The very friendly staff were a delight and provided us with some good information of the area.

Comfortable accommodations in beautifully restored historic building in downtown Hoorn. Arie, the host, was wonderful! He responded to inquiries promptly, welcomed me upon arrival and made me feel at home immediately, arranged for additional garden furniture, dinnerware, etc. to accommodate me hosting my family and friends in the beautiful church garden. Hoorn is a beautiful small town with canals and two harbours and lots of old sailing barges as well as modern yachts. There is a good variety of restaurants. You can take a boat trip with a guided tour on the history of the town. There is a great excursion by steam train and boat to Ankhuisen where the Zuidersee Open Air Museum is. This is an excellent museum of old houses , shops, boat building, sail making etc We loved the steam laundry that was still operating. The Westfries museum in Hoorn is closed till 2027

A lovely old town well cared for with many historic...

A lovely old town well cared for with many historic buildings and interesting shops. Do travel on the stoomtram to nedemblick with its beautiful polished locomotives and typical scenery. Great for the children too! The triangle journey including the boat and visit to the Zuider see museum is recommended.

A lovely place to wander around. Day and evening.

A lovely place to wander around. Day and evening. Beautiful harbour area. People are friendly. Majority speak english so no problem communicating. Plenty of drinking/eating places, can get quite busy at times. The restaurant next to the hotel was really busy on friday/saturday evening, and we found out that you needed to reserve a table. Plenty of others to choose from though. Markets on a saturday and sunday. We will certainly return for a longer visit.

What a stunning and interesting town to visit and we already...

What a stunning and interesting town to visit and we already want to go back. So much history and the most beautiful buildings. Lots of great restaurants and all the shops you could need. Easy to charge our car and the nearby parking in a parking garage was cheap. The steak we had for dinner at Heavens Hotel was the best I had in a long time. Hoorn has lots of green space and you can do lots on foot. Easy walk to the marina, a large park and a huge swimming area on the Hoornse Hop close to town that seems to be newly created and will start opening slowly bit by bit from July. I participated in a big event and on the cycling leg I saw a lot of the beautiful surrounding area, so we will return for a more leisurely visit in the near future.

Hoorn is a small village about 30 minutes northwest of Amsterdam. Our accommodations were located in a boat, just outside of Hoorn. A nature trail near our boat took us into town via a forested area with a good path for walkers and bikers. On Saturday morning, Hoorn has a small market, many backeries and a few cafes were open. Many cyclist going through town.

A quirky hotel in a fab location, within a beautiful old town. The staff couldn’t be happier to help. The breakfast and indeed the restaurant was lovely. The room we had had a quirky layout and brilliant view over the adjacent tourist canal boat dock. We arrived on the 3rd Saturday of July, to find that there was a brilliantly entertaining wine festival in a nearby park, which was free to enter.

The room was large and had a dining table and chairs and kitchen sink, fridge and crockery suitable for having coffee and cold snacks. There was an excellent view of the harbour and it was a short walk to the centre of Hoorn, an historic and very picturesque town. The owner was very friendly and helpful and provided an excellent continental breakfast. It was good value for money.

Great hotel and concept, we really liked our deluxe room! The bed was comfortable, the room was gorgeous and the shower was amazing. The bar served good cocktails, we didn‘t have breakfast in the hotel. There are a lot of things to explore in Hoorn, the restaurants are very cute and served delicious food. Communication with the staff was also very good. Highly recommend.
