It’s a very unique place that feels very special and boutique. The food is really amazing as well as the service: we ate breakfast (included), lunch (soup and salad) and dinner (fish, potatoes and salad), also drinks were amazing (great creative selection of non alcoholic cocktails + kambucha). The staff was very friendly and found us a table in the restaurant for lunch and dinner with almost no waiting time. The location is unique to say at least - you have a great 5km hiking trail across the road and 13 min walking to the entrance to the park with bikes. The place is surrounded by nature - you can hear birds and horses. Everything was clean and cozy. The fire places in the common areas and in the restaurant in addition to the bonfires outside create unique atmosphere. The design, details, nature - everything is there to enjoy and disconnect.

This place is A1, 5 stars, and every other superlative one can think of. Clean, bright, and shiny facilities. Not over-the-top with silly touches, just very solid and very comfortable. From the friendly in-person greeting from Bianca, to the precise and concise tutorial on the details, this place is in the top 1% of accommodations we've found in our travels. Great location for visiting the national park, easy walk to dinner and good Spar grocery.

The host is really friendly and helpful, and the place is spotless and extremely well maintained. And because it's tucked back into the woods, it's also quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed the proximity to the Veluwe park entrance in Otterlo (10-min bike ride) and to the #108 bus stop (5 minutes by bike) because we traveled there from Amsterdam by train and bus, and then to the vacation house via OV fiets (you can pick one up across from the bus stop).

If you're looking for a quiet and comfortable place in the forest, this is it. I knew to bring my own groceries and toiletries, but the little touches like the throw blankets in the living room and the modern decor made this huisje feel like a real home away from home. Coby (the host) also deserves a special shoutout for taking an interest in guests as people. Outside of the general info about the huisje and surrounding areas, we had a personable back and forth that I really appreciated as a guest.

Loved the Wellness Centre.

Loved the Wellness Centre. Wonderful staff, especially the very short haired lady waitress at breakfast, and our check in young man at reception. Breakfast was great-very different items each day. Our room with a terrace made our stay- loved coffee in the morning outside on our lounging chair. Also loved being so close to the town of Otterlo, and the Kroller Muller Museum with free bikes available in the park and the fabulous Van Gogh exhibit in the museum. The town of Otterlo is an interesting little town with good restaurant choices, and a beautiful tribute to the Canadians involved in the Liberation 80 years ago. We are at 2 restaurants there… The Brasserie and the restaurant on the main corner. Both were excellent and gave our group of 4 wonderful food and a great experience.

Hotel location is perfect for visiting the Kröller-Müller...

Hotel location is perfect for visiting the Kröller-Müller Museum and bike ride in National park, which is very beautiful. The hotel is very comfortable with excellent spa (sauna, steam-room, pool...). Breakfast is very good an affordable. Restaurant is excellent but you have to pre-book regular dinner ahead of time - it was fully booked when we were staying and we had dinners in bar area, comfortable but less fancy.

A visit to the the Kroller Muller Museum in Otterlo is...

A visit to the the Kroller Muller Museum in Otterlo is highly recommended! Aside from a great collection of fine art, there are also beautiful sculptures scattered around the huge property grounds. Its a very beautiful place both outside and inside. This is a must visit when going to the Netherlands.

Otterlo - being one of the entrances into the Hoge Veluwe...

Otterlo - being one of the entrances into the Hoge Veluwe National Park is exactly what you would expect from a town with about 2000 inhabitants. It has everything you would expect: A well-stocked super market, a few other shops, a handful of restaurants. While it is served with bi-hourly buses from nearby NS stops Ede, Arnhem and Barneveld, if you go anywhere Hoge Veluwe you will need a car.

We went to the museum and on forest walks - the 'otterlose bos - jeneverbessenbos ' walk is really lovely. Otterlo & its shops is closed on a sunday, so come prepared. Overall very friendly & beautiful surroundings We stayed at beeksehoeve & made our own meals, lovely

The hotel is amazing. Really great room with amazing shower and bed. Bikes for renting are very good. Food in the restaurant is great and well served. Cozy living room to hang out, read, drink a coffee and relax. The staff was great. Reception was good. Great location, in a quit place with nature and still in a walking distance from the village. Perfectly situated close to the park. Reachable by train and bus, good for the ones without car. We were able to relax, enjoy nature and good food. Amazing holidays!

It was our second stay at Het Roodborstje and, as the first time round, everything was perfect for a family trip: the house is large and very comfortable. We stayed for three nights, making an extented transit stop in Otterlo, but still managed to see the highlights of Hoge Veluwe (the park + the KM museum). We hope to come back another time for longer, to explore the area in more depth, and to try the amenities at the nearby holiday park.
