1. Helpful staff. We would message them thru the booking app and they would quickly answer. Things we need more of, they would gladly bring. Note: it is an easy, self check in and out kind of hotel. 2. We asked them if they know of a place to print and send docs internationally. They let us send our docs to their email and had the docs printed and in our room before we arrived. 3. We walked from train station to the hotel with our luggage. We walked from hotel to bus station upon departure bec Uber did not arrive m. Not too near but doable. 4. Bergen Cathedral is right outside of hotel. Many restos and cafes near hotel. 5. Walking distance to the shopping plaza and even the Floyen cable car.

The city is just amazing, stunning landscapes, good restaurants, a lot of things to see. We enjoyed all 5 days of our stay. Norway is one of the most beautiful countries I’ve ever seen, fjords are breathtaking but also norvegians are warm, smart and funny. It’s very safe and very clean country. Highly recommended! We were eating in amateur restaurant and at fishmarket.

It's a brilliant little place.

It's a brilliant little place. If you fly in here, you can get to the Fjords easily, and also to the glacier. Sufficient things to mix: nature trips, hikes, kayaks, fjord round trips, mountain hikes, awesome food, museums, parks, and the old city has the unesco world heritage site of Bryggen and Nordnes! Definitely a must visit, and if you're short on time/cash, you could skip Oslo and just come to Bergen.

Bergen is a very nice place to visit but it has two main problems: 1) too many tourists, but they all seem to flock to Bryggen to take selfies. 2) Bergen is the rainiest city in Europe, so be sure to bring and umbrella or poncho or both. Public transit is excellent and a Skyss week ticket (on your phone) pays for itself after about 4 rides. All of Norway is expensive, and Bergen is no exception but virtually every business accepts (maybe even prefers) credit card payments. The only real need for cash is if you wanted to tip someone and not reward your credit card issuer - though tipping is not expected

It's summer, we just got off the cruise ship, and this was the jumping off point for a 5-day road trip in a rental car. Bergen is a pretty city and very photogenic. We like nature more than museums and we love to try the restaurants. Bergen did not disappoint. The long days with sunlight and the tightness of the city made it very walkable. We had some good meals in Bergen too. For us, 2 full days in Bergen was enough. We did take the train from Bergen to Oslo. Be aware, being on a train for 7 hours is a long time. The food is VERY expensive on the train.

Beautiful mid-sized city.

Beautiful mid-sized city. Best to get out of the highly touristic areas to enjoy the rest of the city and hinterlands, eg, the historic Stave Church and some of the towns you can get to by ferry from the central dock area.

Bergen is a charming and very walkable city.

Bergen is a charming and very walkable city. The fish market is a "must visit", if only to check it out. Lunch at the eateries (sit-down) is quite pricey. There is a lot of history to the place and picturesque views. There are several points of interest to visit like Bryggen, fjord cruises, Bergenhus Fortress, Mount Ulriken either walkable depending on where you stay or accessible via public transportation.

The location of the apartment was perfect - a short walk and you are on the Bergen waterfront. Service staff were on hand daily to satisfy any needs. The apartment was one of four locations we booked for our tour of southern Norway, the other three being hotels. Great decision as also provided an opportunity to do some washing. The hosts also provide an web link to all sorts of useful Bergen information they have pulled together. Highly recommend for a Bergen stay.
