The place is amazing, very spacial design and have a great atmosphere. The stuff is very nice and helped us in everything, even prepared breakfast when we checkedout, which was very early in the morning 😍 The location was fantastic, very close to the centre and to restaurants, but the restaurant in the hotel is amazing by itself. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was amazing.

Amazing place. Clean, modern, self sufficient, and friendly staff. Right around the corner from the train to take you downtown within 20 minutes. Kitchen/common area with a microwave, utensils, and seating area so you can pick up some food from the grocery store from around the corner and bring it back and make a small meal for yourself. There is also a restaurant attached with good food. Laundry on the 2nd floor + ironing for about $4 per wash and per dry. You use your bank card, no coins. Did I mention how clean this place was?

Super fun! We enjoyed the ping pong and billiards. The breakfast was awesome and the beds were super comfortable. Hospitality was outstanding and they just went out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. We stayed in town at the beginning of our trip and paid 3 times as much for not a good experience. Next time in Bergen we’ll stay here and train into the city. 🇳🇴

FAQs about hotels in Bergen

Picture-Postcard Norway

Gateway to the western fjords, Bergen is a picture-perfect postcard of Norway at its best. Colorful, wooden houses in UNESCO World Heritage-listed Bryggen contrast wonderfully with the lush greenery of the surrounding Seven Mountains.

For fantastic views of Norway’s 2nd largest city, hop on the cable car to Ulriken Mountain. Alternatively, hike or take the funicular railway up to Fløyen Mountain. With beaches sheltered from the North Sea by islands, Bergen is Norway’s busiest port and a popular starting point for fjord cruises and deep sea fishing.

The fish market in the narrow streets of the historic centre is a popular attraction, while just north is 12th-century St Mary’s Church. Around 1,000 years younger is Bergenhus, one of Norway’s best-preserved forts. Further north is Gamle Bergen, a reconstructed wooden village offering insight into the past.

Cobbled Strandgaten street and Lagunen Storsenter shopping center are just some shopping options, but items aren’t cheap. As you wander around the city look for work by Dolk, Norway’s best-known street artist. Other cultural attractions include many museums and a good music scene ranging from classic to indie.

Booking.com’s range of Bergen accommodation extends out towards Bergen Airport in Flesland, the departure point for many workers on the offshore oil and gas rigs.

It's a great historical city!

It's a great historical city! We took a fjords tour, explored Bryggen (where there is a Troll Museum!), and had some wonderful meals. There is a funicular that we didn't have time to take, but we did see a gorgeous sunset at Nordnes Park. The city has plenty of gorgeous wool sweaters, beanie hats, scarves, etc. to keep you warm too! We were there in April and it was chilly, especially with the wind.

Nice compact city easily walkable.

Nice compact city easily walkable. We had 4 nights but with hindsight could have done the city in 2 or 3. Always wanted to visit Norway and glad I’ve seen it but due to the high prices of certain things,we won’t be returning. Two 500ml beers was £26 in a local pub. Two pizzas a small beer and a sparkling water £57. The only thing that I found to be reasonable was the transport system. Local busses were very reasonable as was the 40 minute light rail from the airport to Bergen centre. My wife did the 4 hour fjord cruise and loved it…£66. The hill above Bergen is worth a visit…I walked up which was very pleasant. My wife used the funicular up (£8) and walked back down with me…a nice walk.

Very beautiful, but with very little to do!

Very beautiful, but with very little to do! We were incredibly lucky with the weather, managing to go up there by cable car on the first day, because on the second day it was so bad that it closed. The Troll museum is really nice for the kids, we can enjoy a lot inside.

Bergen was lovely - quiet, easy to get around, lots to do, beautiful buildings, very friendly people who mostly spoke English. It was quite pricey which we hadn't prepared for. Bryggen was lovely to explore, Ulriken and Floyen were beautiful. Excellent for walking and hiking. Lots of parks, very clean. We really enjoyed the fjord cruise but the hop on, hop off bus was not so great. The aquarium was very good.

Excellent place to visit with lots to see and do . It was a little expensive compared to the uk but we knew this and planned for it . The ulriken is a must and a fyord cruise gives you four seasons in one day !

Our review is complicated by the fact that wew ere there during Easter week, and that made it difficult to schedule some museum vists, etc. On the recommendation of a friend who had only one day there, wer added a second full day in addition to the remaining afternoon after or train from Voss. Overall, just about right, but might have done things differently if we knew about the weird Easter-week closings. I think Bryggen was a bit overhyped - nice historic old building and atmospheric back alleys almost 100% devoted to separating tourists and their money. The half-day fjord tour up Osterfjord was well-worth it. Choose the one operated by FJordcharter Adventures - is is a couple of dollers more expensive but has a live guide narrating the tour instead of recorded cpommentary.

One of the best places I have ever been to is Norway. It's a clean, nice apartment located in the center of Bergen. I highly recommend this place. The owner is very kind and helpful. He helped me find a parking spot and even sent me a number for the cheapest taxi. There wasn't any problem with booking at 11 PM. To be honest, there isn't a single thing I could be disappointed about. 10 out of 10!
