1. Helpful staff. We would message them thru the booking app and they would quickly answer. Things we need more of, they would gladly bring. Note: it is an easy, self check in and out kind of hotel. 2. We asked them if they know of a place to print and send docs internationally. They let us send our docs to their email and had the docs printed and in our room before we arrived. 3. We walked from train station to the hotel with our luggage. We walked from hotel to bus station upon departure bec Uber did not arrive m. Not too near but doable. 4. Bergen Cathedral is right outside of hotel. Many restos and cafes near hotel. 5. Walking distance to the shopping plaza and even the Floyen cable car.

FAQs about hotels in Bergen

Picture-Postcard Norway

Gateway to the western fjords, Bergen is a picture-perfect postcard of Norway at its best. Colorful, wooden houses in UNESCO World Heritage-listed Bryggen contrast wonderfully with the lush greenery of the surrounding Seven Mountains.

For fantastic views of Norway’s 2nd largest city, hop on the cable car to Ulriken Mountain. Alternatively, hike or take the funicular railway up to Fløyen Mountain. With beaches sheltered from the North Sea by islands, Bergen is Norway’s busiest port and a popular starting point for fjord cruises and deep sea fishing.

The fish market in the narrow streets of the historic centre is a popular attraction, while just north is 12th-century St Mary’s Church. Around 1,000 years younger is Bergenhus, one of Norway’s best-preserved forts. Further north is Gamle Bergen, a reconstructed wooden village offering insight into the past.

Cobbled Strandgaten street and Lagunen Storsenter shopping center are just some shopping options, but items aren’t cheap. As you wander around the city look for work by Dolk, Norway’s best-known street artist. Other cultural attractions include many museums and a good music scene ranging from classic to indie.

Booking.com’s range of Bergen accommodation extends out towards Bergen Airport in Flesland, the departure point for many workers on the offshore oil and gas rigs.

We were on a Viking Ocean Cruise and were very satisfied with the service, entertainment and the amazing ability of the staff to know and call you by name from the first day!! We thought Bergen was a charming city with lots to offer. The excursions gave us a glimpse of the area but we would have loved to have had more time to explore! The people are extremely friendly and helpful! It is a destination everyone should expeience!

Lots of things to do and see in Bergen, good transport routing throughout city As expected Norway is not cheap. Food eating out very good Very disappointed with the student attitude on the streets , they seem to think they have the right to burge through everyone, no respect to tourist, lots and niose fueled youngsters mostly by drink and perhaps drugs. Not enough police presence to sort out anti social student attitudes Bergen needs to address this before it tarnishes this great city imagine

Very nice city, but it is raining a lot, so be prepaired.

Very nice city, but it is raining a lot, so be prepaired. We climbed the Foyen by foot (Tippetue hiking path) which is more interesting than using the funicular. You can enjoy the nature and the view. On the top there are very good paces to spend your time. Playgrounds, troll statues, and even goats if you are lucky.

This is a beautiful city, with many options.

This is a beautiful city, with many options. It's not too big, not too small. We enjoyed the Brygge, especially the small alleys that led to shops and restaurants away from the bigger storefronts. We also enjoyed going up the funicular and walking through the troll park, and seeing the view of Bergen below us. And had a wonderful fjord tour -- spur of the moment-- with a very informative tour guide. But the best was that we were there during the World Cup, with Norway playing. The city went wild and we got to 'row' with the best of them!

Spent 28 days in Norway using Bergen Airport as the transportation hub, therefore, needed accommodation within walk-able distance. Stayed four separate nights as it met the distance criteria and was cheaper than the Clarion Hotel. The Comfort Hotel is less than a 5" walk from the airport (slightly uphill), nothing special or bad, paying for the location. Good size and clean rooms, decent sized private bath with enclosed shower. Typical Norwegian BF included which was good. Friendly and helpful registration staff. Good wifi.

Lots of good points for this hotel. Location is great : in the city center, nice student area, with an EXCELLENT mexican restaurant in the corner. And more affordable than in the touristic areas. Free parking Room was perfect, as in all CityBox. Commun area are small but well done : you can have your breakfast/dîner there, which is a good saving, specially in Norway...

This hotel is very conveniently located, near the center and right next to the old part of town, walking distance to all main attractions. Rooms were comfortable, albeit on the smaller size (but typical in Norway). Very good breakfast.
