The hotel is okay and located close to the city center, about a 20-minute walk, which is a big plus. Breakfast was good with a decent variety of options. Great connection to the airport. Tram 1 ( 5min walk from the hotel) Unfortunately, a major downside was cleanliness. The shower curtain in the bathroom was very old and extremely dirty, which looked unpleasant. The sink was completely yellowed — I honestly couldn’t tell if it was dirt or wear, but it looked really bad. There were also quite a lot of hairs on the bathroom floor. Apart from that, everything else was fine. The beds were very comfortable, which is a big plus, and we slept really well. The room with a view was also nice and offered a pleasant view. Overall, the stay was okay, but the hotel should definitely improve the cleanliness of the bathrooms.

FAQs about hotels in Bergen

Picture-Postcard Norway

Gateway to the western fjords, Bergen is a picture-perfect postcard of Norway at its best. Colorful, wooden houses in UNESCO World Heritage-listed Bryggen contrast wonderfully with the lush greenery of the surrounding Seven Mountains.

For fantastic views of Norway’s 2nd largest city, hop on the cable car to Ulriken Mountain. Alternatively, hike or take the funicular railway up to Fløyen Mountain. With beaches sheltered from the North Sea by islands, Bergen is Norway’s busiest port and a popular starting point for fjord cruises and deep sea fishing.

The fish market in the narrow streets of the historic centre is a popular attraction, while just north is 12th-century St Mary’s Church. Around 1,000 years younger is Bergenhus, one of Norway’s best-preserved forts. Further north is Gamle Bergen, a reconstructed wooden village offering insight into the past.

Cobbled Strandgaten street and Lagunen Storsenter shopping center are just some shopping options, but items aren’t cheap. As you wander around the city look for work by Dolk, Norway’s best-known street artist. Other cultural attractions include many museums and a good music scene ranging from classic to indie.

Booking.com’s range of Bergen accommodation extends out towards Bergen Airport in Flesland, the departure point for many workers on the offshore oil and gas rigs.

Our review is complicated by the fact that wew ere there during Easter week, and that made it difficult to schedule some museum vists, etc. On the recommendation of a friend who had only one day there, wer added a second full day in addition to the remaining afternoon after or train from Voss. Overall, just about right, but might have done things differently if we knew about the weird Easter-week closings. I think Bryggen was a bit overhyped - nice historic old building and atmospheric back alleys almost 100% devoted to separating tourists and their money. The half-day fjord tour up Osterfjord was well-worth it. Choose the one operated by FJordcharter Adventures - is is a couple of dollers more expensive but has a live guide narrating the tour instead of recorded cpommentary.

We liked the light railway which made it very easy to get around. We liked the Norwegian culture, people and the general feel of the place. If you like shopping it’s a shoppers paradise. We took the Bergenbannen train to Oslo, altogether a fabulous experience. Oh yes and we liked the biscuits which are the Norwegian kitkat type biscuit, difference is there biscuit is covered in thick real chocolate, delicious. What we didn’t like was the weather once back in Bergen…..it rained relentlessly and we couldn’t even see the Funicular which we’d planned to take up to the viewpoint.

Bergen is beautiful. Walkable and stunning. Great restaurants near Bryggen. The funicular led up to spectacular jaw dropping views. We had lots of snow!!! Kids and adults loved it. We took the scenic train to Voss which was excellent for family ski. Could have stayed much longer! Clarion Admiral is a lovely hotel, everyone friendly, Olivias restaurant on the harbour was very busy but squeezed us in for an excellent meal. Will be back!!!

This hotel is very well located, just a five minute walk from both the central train station and bus station. The staff were very friendly and let us rest in the lobby for a few hours at night because we arrived much earlier than expected due to transportation problems in Norway caused by the bad weather. They kept our luggage for the whole day before the check in, the check in and check out were quick and easy. The room was confortable as well equipped, including a hair dryer. The breakfast was included and there were several options.

One of the best places I have ever been to is Norway. It's a clean, nice apartment located in the center of Bergen. I highly recommend this place. The owner is very kind and helpful. He helped me find a parking spot and even sent me a number for the cheapest taxi. There wasn't any problem with booking at 11 PM.
