The breakfast was really good, reception staff were friendly and helpful, great location, good facilities (bar and garden), and I believe the price of a room was good for Oslo.

This may not be the cheapest option for a stay in Oslo but then again Oslo isn't the first choice if you want to go somewhere cheap. I think this hotel is a great place to stay for several reasons. First of all it is really close to all kinds of transport and sights (including the Royal Palace). The hotel itself is really clean, has a nice decor and the rooms are quite big and include a fridge and teamaker. The beds are perfect and so is the bathroom. The food in the restaurant is great even though there isn't a whole lot of choice. It is a pity that the restaurant is downstairs because the view in the Summit Bar at the top is brilliant (and it would be great to eat there as well). The hotel has a nice pool and sauna (it is a bit weird that you have to go into the seperate-sex changing room to get into the separate sauna's) and there was almost no-one there during our stay. Oh and there are loads of extra towels in the changing rooms. And the breakfast is really something else! There is so much choice I haven't even tried everything. And as we were there on the National Holiday there was also a lot of extra cake and strawberries (and it all tasted great!).

Spreading for hundreds of kilometres from the mouth of the Oslofjord, Oslo is the largest city by area in Europe and is liberally covered in pristine forests rising up into the outlying hills. South of the unassuming city hall lies a vibrant waterfront known as Aker Brygge, which in summer is full of bustling outdoor restaurants and bars.
For the prettiest buildings head to affluent inner-city suburbs of Frogner and Fagerborg, or admire the traditional Scandinavian wooden houses of Bygdøy and Holmenkollen. Monumental buildings include the Royal Palace which runs daily tours and the Akershus Festning, which is a medieval castle that also served as a military base and provides impressive views of the Oslofjord. Oslo City Hall, or rådhus, offers even more distinctive architecture and it is the location of the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony.
Nature is never far away in Oslo which is ringed by an archipelago of islands which are extremely popular in summer. Hiking, kayaking and sailing are all easily achievable within the city limits. Just as popular, are the many museums. The national Museum houses Edvard Munch’s famous painting The Scream and Viking Ship Museum containing long-lost relics from Norway’s Viking past.
From downtown Sentrum to the Oslo Airport Gardermoen to the stunning statues in Frogner Park, Booking.com has over 80 hotels and other accommodations available.

We were traveling through for one night, and have now returned for a few days. Enjoying walking around the city and the easy of moving about. We went to the Daimond League Athletics, The Bislett Games last night. Looking forward to more days in Oslo.
The Fram Museum is a must do. Not often you get the chance to stand in and on history. The ship went where the men went and represents them in its silence. Great Museum.

Loved the history and architecture of Oslo.
Loved the history and architecture of Oslo. Loved the cleanliness and friendliness of the people. I would definitely go back and have told my friends about what a great place it was. Sadly, I was only there for a couple of days. I hope to return and see more of Norway.

The architecture is realy cool and there are many modern buildings between the historic ones. The city center is small so you can explore on foot.
What stood out to our eyes was the trash in the streets and many homeless people asking for money. We have also saw the police searching people and a guy fallen on the floor in the buss station which gave us insecurity and a impression of lack of drug and alcohol control.

There is so much to see and do in Oslo. The excellent transport system makes it really easy to get about by bus, tram or train.
Fjord hopping, museums, walking tours, galleries are all to be enjoyed. There is some stunning architecture and a lot of history to learn about. There is plenty to do at night too - opera, theatres, bars and restaurants.
Oslo is a clean city that has a lovely vibe and you feel safe to walk round.

Great location with a few spots to unload luggage in front of the hotel. Staff were helpful and friendly. The gym in the basement was clean, spacious and had good equipment. The room was clean and comfy, with large floor to ceiling windows. The breakfast was what nudged our rating up to a 9. The breakfast room was large and airy. The breakfast itself was of high quality with so many options. We splurged on a 5 star breakfast at the Britannia in Trondheim later in the trip and both agreed that the Karl Johan was better.
Location of hotel was vey nice and peaceful with quick easy tram link to the city centre, the hotel was extremely clean and very stylish and had a boutique feel to it, the breakfast and dinner was of excellent quality and choice thoroughly enjoyed it all and you could have as much as you liked. All the staff were very warm, kind friendly and helpful. The room although a little dated was comfortable and clean as was the bed.
Everything was awesome, breakfast spectacular, the bus to the airport in a very convenient walking distance. The hotel is super modern and beautiful.
The metro to City Center is about 15 minutes walking distance.
Perfect breakfast, very closed to city center, very nice and clean room. Director was more than helpful , solved our problem with parking. Thank you again for support. Really recomended this hotel.
