The. Staff member who clerked us in was very helpful and accommodating when it was realised that the original booked room had a shared bathroom , which I did not realise when I booked on line. He made our day & we both enjoyed the breakfast. Would book again if in Christchurch again

The rebuilding of Christchurch since the 2011 earthquake is quite impressive. The Botanical Gardens are superb and the centre of the old town, with art galleries, museums and the trams make it a most enjoyable experience.

Lovely visiting Christchurch seeing the autumn colours on the Trees.
Lots of new redevelopment and things going on. Nice walking around the Botanical Gardens and enjoyed looking at the exhibitions in the new Art Gallery and cool visiting the Arts Centre and the Riverside Market was great with yummy food options. Went to an event in the Town Hall, that's looking awesome in there!
Would have liked to stay longer to see more things and do more walking around the Christchurch area but will be back!

The Little Fiddle Irish pub and the Zodiac Bar on the strip were great places to eat and water at. The city CBD and the Riccarton Westfield shopping complex are definitely worth visiting and the Sweet & Sour Patisserie is a must!

The Golden Star hotel was great to stay at with the location being in walking distance of Westfield Mall, Apollo Theory and Wolfbrook.
The Silky Otter cinema is great for the movies and its location to Joes Garage for meals.
Driving around Christchurch is a mission with constant roadworks, closures and excessive traffic. Plan ahead and allow extra time for travel as Christchurch is just a mini Auckland when it comes to driving.

Great base to be able to set out and explore the city.
Great base to be able to set out and explore the city. We were able to go for a walk after settling in so as to gain a better idea of how the city is being developed after the earthquake. River Market a Must-Visit.

The staff was excellent, very helpful and friendly. We arrived at night time at the airport and they came to pick us up immediately. 40 minutes after touchdown, we were already in bed, even though we had oversized luggage and several suitcases that needed to be picked up. The public transport in front of the hotel was very convenient to get around Christchurch. The room was spacious, and the beds were comfortable.
We booked this hotel as we landed into Christchurch late and wanted to be close to our campervan pickup at the airport the following morning. Hotel was 2min walk from departure hall and staff on arrival were really friendly and checked us in quickly without any issues. Room was a good size with two doubles. We opted for the breakfast which was excellent - buffet style with lots of choice.
Great location in Christchurch CBD, close to the shops, The Trolly, parks etc. The hot breakfast was included with my room, so that was good, and eggs cooked to your liking was possible. There were lots of towel rails, which is unusual for NZ hotels.
We loved the central position of the hotel. Have never stayed in Christchurch CBD and this was perfect for our one night stay.
A quiet and very comfortable room. We were very kindly upgraded to a queen room which was a bonus!
