Krakow reminds me of Prague in some ways. Very green, exceptionally clean! Even cleaner than many Western European capitals! People are very kind even when you don’t except help, we got some! I love the amount of attractions - from restaurants to museums, the city offers a big variety of activities and experiences. The auschwitz tour and the wieliczka mine tour experience are absolutely unmissable. You can book direct as they are offered as guided tours anyways. The public transport system is convenient. For the former there is a bus option and a train option. There is a direct train to the salt mines from Krakow main station. sadly we couldnt get into the Oskar Schindler factory because of a huge queue and advance bookings weren't possible for some reason. Wonderful, beautiful city. Many sights to see within the city and surrounding countryside. I was impressed and wish I had more time … 5 days was too short for me but fortunately just enough time to see and go to places I wanted to visit. An interesting city with much to see. Quite walkable, but getting about by tram is a good option if you can get a tram map. Not so great is the taxi 'mafia' which clealy collude to rip off tourists. Avoid taxis as much as possibly especially to/from the airport. Locals were very friendly, and many younger ones spoke English and willing to help.
