One of the most beautiful city I’ve ever been to. The atmosphere is fresh and lively, but also relaxed. Either on foot or by bike, there is so much to explore: the historic centre, surrounded by the old city walls, now mostly a beautiful park with centennial oaks and colorful flowers; the Wawel Castle which still guards over both city and river; and the old jewish district, Kazimierz, today full of things to see and do. Loved the city. Charming atmosphere and lots to do. The historic centre is marvellous, in excellent state, with beautiful churches. I recommend to rent a bike to discover the lakes nearby (Bagry & Zakrzówek) & the Tyniek abbey, where one can also do kayaking. Most respectful drivers I saw for cyclists and pedestrains in all visited countries; it is a quiet city, no horn heard in 10 days ! Nice green belt around the old town, and interesting museums, I recommend the Schindler factory museum, the Polish aviation museum & the technical museum. Lovely city with interesting old town and plenty ti di for a weekend or longer. Prices very good! We went to salt mine (excellent) and hiking in Zakopane which was beautiful. The location was fantastic, there are shops nearby for essentials and plenty of restaurants around. It is just a short 5-10 minute walk to the main square, and it is very easy to walk to all the main locations around Krakow city centre. Everything needed was provided. We booked 3 rooms, each were clean, the beds were quite comfortable, there was also a can of water, kettle and tea. Breakfast was good, with plenty of options. It's proximity to the centre of Old Town Kraków is perfect and allowed us to reach the main square within 4mins walk. There's a tram stop within 100m that will take you anywhere else you like in the city. Our host Anna went above and beyond to make our stay more comfortable.
