The bathroom was clean and fully equipped with towels and soaps.
The breakfast was great and wholesome. I liked that there was plenty of time to have breakfast; about 4 hours.

I was surprised how big the city actually is.
I was surprised how big the city actually is. The park Jasne Błonia is absolutely fantastic, so is the city hall next to it. There are many historical buildings in the center, the castle is beautiful, and people are very friendly and helpful.

fascinating history. the city was part of germany, until in 1945, almost overnight, germans fled/were kicked out, and city became polish. today city is thoroughly polish, though architecturally much is still german.
national museum is first rate--excellent collection of medieval Pomeranian art. Dialogue Centre Upheaval--part of national museum-- gives history of city 1939-1989--ie, nazi period, post war Polonisation, Stalinism, popular uprisings against communism, Solidarity, fall of communism in 1989. history presented through artifacts, contemporary newsreels.

It was a short 24h stay to explore the city without any expectations, and the stay proved to be too short as I haven't managed to visit all the interesting open-space public spaces, to say nothing of the museums! The city has a lot of really old architecture often mixed with modern buildings, museums, a riverside and a port, a botanical garden and parks. I'd also recommend visiting during the warm season as winter may feel quite dreadful with strong winds, less daylight, cloudy skies and cold humid air coming from the Baltic Sea. Szczecin is reachable by car, bus, train, water, and air. The airport is tiny and is quite far away (47 km?), with bus/train schedule tailored specifically for arriving and departing flights. It means that if a certain arriving flight is delayed all the buses will be waiting for it at the airport (not sure about trains). Services like e.g. Uber and regular taxis are also available.

History of the area very good.
History of the area very good. Visited the pomeranian castle and the second world war underground bunker with my nan who used the bunker during the second World War.
We used trams and buses as well as walking to get around the area

Szczecin has a very walkable old town area.
Szczecin has a very walkable old town area. The Tourist information has done a good job of promoting the sites by the red line you can follow all around the city. We enjoyed discovering all these places. It was also easy to catch a train to Wolin to see the Viking settlement.

Szczecin is a city of wide streets with a lot of parks and some beautiful old building which have been re novated. The river Odra provide an extra attraction. You can book yourself a trip on a boat, on a river and towards the lake Dabie. The route is very attractive: you can see a lot of nice unusual birds and beautiful greenery. Also, you can arrange for yourself a trip to the Baltic Sea or the attractive island Wolin. The city has some good shops or shopping centres like Galaxy or Kaskada. It is worthy visiting a very popular Park Kasprowicza with it's lake and Summer Theatre and a famous, new building of Opera.

The hotel is perfectly located, close to nice restaurants and cafes. It features an underground parking lot (which is an additional charge), but we found street parking without any issues. The room is quite small but nicely decorated and well-organized.

Nice Hotel in a quiet location. Nice and clean room and very good Breakfast. Free parking and, if there are no places left, toll parking is possible along the street.
