Always on the Move

A city on the move, Warsaw is constantly changing in an effort to rebuild what was lost during World War Two. There’s no better example of this than the stunning Old Town Square, where pastel facades sit alongside dome-topped spires.

Starting here is the Royal Route which passes several historic buildings on its way out to Wilanów, where an ornate Royal Palace is set in a huge park that was the retreat of kings since the 17th century. Just as grandiose is the Palace of Culture and Science, Stalin’s gift to Warsaw that still manages to evoke feelings of hatred and love in equal measure. Go up to the terrace for panoramic city views.

Other cultural offerings are the Warsaw Uprising Museum, considered the best museum in Poland, and traditional bars that still serve down-to-earth food washed down with a shot of vodka - a throwback to the Communist era. Don’t expect to find a seat though – there aren’t any.

Warsaw also has a thriving club scene and more shopping centres than you could throw a stick at. Not that you’d want to, as you’ll be too busy picking up the bargains.

Just outside the city is Warsaw Airport, efficiently linked by public transport to the city’s hotels, guest houses and hostels, available on Booking.com.

    Friendly, clean easy to navigate, beautiful and intimate. Herbaciarnia same fusy is a fantastic place to take time to rest and drink tea while walking around the old town and Lapidarium across the road is an excellent shop for the perfect souvenir. The katyn forest memorial is a must visit. It's dark and chilling but a very important part of Polish history. The Polish army museum is fantastic for lovers of military history as is the Warsaw technical museum.

    The history of the place was interesting.

    The history of the place was interesting. The crowds overwhelmingly. Some of the restaurants were good others not so. Transport was good. The park was lovely especially the squirrels. Old town worth while visiting. Warsaw has become multicultural, which means a variety of different foods. However it’s best always good to stick to Polish food as it is tasty especially dumplings.

    I only saw the city centre and South in midsummer but it was modern and clean with green spaces everywhere and space between buildings making the amenity and sightseeing great. Superior to many cities of the world in this regard- lovely to walk ride or scooter around. Loved it.

    Very beautiful city.

    Very beautiful city. Oldtown - with a lot of nice boutique shops and cafes. Nice stroll next to the river. Variaty of museums and parks to visit, shopping center with international brands. A chance to experience local cusine as well as international (visited Korean restaurants and loved it). Very easy city to get around. You cal easily walk to many places and around the oldtown by foot or take a metro / tram to get to surounding areas. A lot of parking options to choose from as well.

    I thought there was nothing to see in Warsaw because...

    I thought there was nothing to see in Warsaw because everything was destroyed in WWII. Actually much survived, and much was meticulously rebuilt using detailed plans that were made when people saw what was likely to happen. 2-3 full days of seeing palaces, churches, old town, .

    Hotel is in good location. There is a good grren area there. About 25 minites to the Old Warsaw. Lots of restaurants on the way to the Old Town and amazing library. You need keep in mind that it's a star hotel so do not expect smth extraodinary. The staff is very friendly. However, they messed our breakfast boxes and prepared two with hams. We checked only at the airport. The paper on them said that one was with cheese but both were with ham and my colleague couldn't eat it.

    I strongly recommend this hotel for accommodation in Warsaw! Everything clean, well equipped with anything you can need for a couple of days staying, very close to the old town city center and also well connected to the public transportation. This place is one of the best I ever stayed in my life quality/price ratio. Congratulations for the great work you are doing, guys! For sure, if I'll have the opportunity, I'll be back.     Whenever I stay in Warsaw I book this hotel-it never disappoints. It is clean, the studios and apartments are specious, staff always very accommodating and friendly. Good value for money and great location with a walking distance to the Old Town and the Central Train Station. Even the bus to the airport is a short distance away. Perfect!

    Like how all 5 stars should be, are. Sixteen minutes taxi ride from Chopin airport. Hotel is across the central station, food places, shopping malls. Excellent walk of thirty minutes towards old town. Breakfast add-on is a must have. Double rooms are of a perfect size. The front desk check-in teams are extremely supportive.
