We loved Monte Santo, it's classy & calm but still has all amenities like kids club, poolside waiter service, room service, daily cleaning. You could probably let the location put you off as it's about 20 minute walk to the beach but its actually so much nicer than the streets off from the beach. Taxi's generally cost under 5 euro & arrived within minutes of booking on Uber (we travelled in mid may so I'm sure its busier in peak seasons) before we arrived I had read some reviews that the place needed some minor redecoration or fixing up - I can say it was all done & everything was perfect. Obviously its not a chef standard kitchen in the suites and townhouses but everything you could possibly need, a functioning washing machine, dishwasher, hob & cutlery etc. Staff couldn't be more attentive & friendly. The pool is luxurious, the pool restaurant and bar is elegant & the gym is spacious. All the changing areas and restrooms are really nice too - A higher standard than what you'd expect from resorts similarly priced / located. Spa looked (and smelled) great, we didn't find the time to use it this time but would next time! We had a 2 bed suite & it's really spacious for a family of 3/4.
We did a local pirate ship tour from Portimao, got a Taxi which was cheap & it was one of the best things we've done, the staff were so friendly, it wasn't cheesy but still great fun, took us into the local caves on smaller boats & the surroundings were incredible. Would highly recommend.
Featuring free WiFi, an outdoor pool and a year-round outdoor pool, Quinta das Andorinhas offers accommodation in Carvoeiro, 1.7 km from Carvoeiro Beach. Free private parking is available on site.

We stayed at this Quinta with two couple friends because we had a wedding. The location was perfect for this, The staff extremely friendly and the sweets at breakfast were a real treat. The swimming pool area with kitchen were nice for a picnic.
Set in tropical palm gardens, this complex offers fully equipped apartments, 2 swimming pools and tennis courts. The resort features a free shuttle service to Carvoeiro beach, 2 km away.
This hotel, 500 metres from Carvoeiro Beach and limestone cliffs, is peacefully set apart from the bustle of Carvoeiro fishing town. It has a lush garden and an outdoor swimming pool.

We loved that Carvoeiro is a smaller town, right on the ocean, surrounded by spectacular cliffs. Carvoeiro's beach is set down in a cove and there are change rooms and many restaurants close by. On the upper level cliffs there is a nice boardwalk over looking the ocean which is also lit up at night.

If you want unbelievable coastal views, small town feel, gorgeous sunsets and access to hikes/walking trails, walking distance to town/beach with lots of restaurant options and short Uber ride/hike to Bengail Caves and many other beaches this is the place for you!! So happy we opted for Carvoeiro instead of Lagos. Donna Mario Italian restaurant had amazing pasta and pizza. We are there 4 times!

Carvoeiro is a great place to stay if you are exploring the Algarve region. Pretty close to the airport (about 45 minutes) and nearby touristy towns such as Ferragudo or Lagos. The beach Vale Centeanes is really beautiful and it has a great boardwalk that goes along the cliffs to Praia Marinha which is really stunning. Carvoeiro is a beach town with plenty good restaurants. Don't miss the "pasteles de nata" at Fabrica Velha.

Great location for hiking the cliffs & short walks to centre & beaches.
However, Reception failed to provide apartment booked for first 2 nights in spite of arriving to check on reservation 4 days prior to the stay so had to deal with resort director to amicably resolve problem. She was very professional.
Disappointing given reservation was made 7 months earlier but maintenance & housekeeping staff were very good responding to minor issues.
We liked the breakfast buffet (starting 8:00) that offered a very wide selection.
As the hotel is located away from the centre, it has its own spacious parking.
Rooms facing away from the street are very quiet at night.
Each room has a clothes rack outside for drying wet bathing suits.
