We absolutely loved staying at the Companhia do Cacau! What was meant to be a a convenient pitstop between Porto and Algarve, turned out to be an amazing experience and wonderful stay. The Palacete is a well restored, beautiful building, run by a very sweet and interesting family which really make a big effort to make their guests feel at home. Think of delicious breakfast, afternoon tea in a beautiful parlor overlooking town, plunge in the pool, soak up in the hammam, the scent of orange blossom in the garden, and making our own chocolate bars in the chocolate factory (the caramel one is really good!). The only downside....our children were sad to leave and we could have easily stayed longer. Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful stay. Everything was amazing, staff was great. It’s in the middle of nowhere which is amazing because you listen to nothing more than the birds and animals of the farm.
There are goats, pigs, sheeps, dogs, chickens, etc. All happy and free.
Abel was the most amazing dog and friend to explore the property.
