The apartment is very big, with an equipped kitchen, big living room, two rooms and two bathrooms, more than enough for 4 people.
The hosts were friendly and responsive, trying their best to solve issues and help.
Location is good if you are looking for a place close to the Victoria Center and with good bus connections (not great if you want to easily access beaches, none at walking distance)

Very cozy and clean apartment with all necessary things. Alex is super friendly and helpful - he met us with fresh juice and refreshing towels and it was great after long flight and kindly left some goods for the first day in the apartment - fruits, water, eggs, milk, butter. He also gave some advice about exploring Mahe. We did really feel like a home and were enjoying spectacular view from the balcony.
The kitchen has everything you need to prepare your own meals, and there is a fish market nearby where you can buy fresh catch in the morning and evening. Also, there are several small grocery stores and a pharmacy nearby.
This is not disadvantage of housing, but travelers need to know that it is better to get to the apartment by car. At first the road may seem difficult, but after a couple of time, you will get used to it.
As a bonus, the owners have a cute cat, and you can also see giant turtles from the balcony (kept by the owner of the neighboring house) :-)
Many thanks for our pleasant and comfortable stay!

self catering apartment with mostly everything, a water dispenser (cooler/heater) to avoid litter from smaller water bottles and juice at arrival, plus thanksfully with possibility for early arrival (due to availability)
Spacious rooms with 2 sleeping rooms and bathes with bathtubs resp. shower
Regular cleaning offered (despite during a 5 days stay not really necessary from our personal point of view)
Boasting a patio with garden views, a garden and barbecue facilities, Island Cove can be found in Victoria, close to Anse Royale Beach and 500 metres from Fairyland Beach.
Victoria city is a clean and safe city. City start winding down as early as 5pm. Central Market, museum, beaches around, great local and international foods. Easy to navigate the city. Car rental available at good price.

Variety of shops. Safe. Cultural. Food is expensive. Beautiful lush terrain. Humid. Bus is best way to travel. Reasonable. When you change buses you have to pay fare again (12 rupees). Cabs are expensive. Many pharmacies if required. Locals are friendly, helpful. Bus service good M- F and Sunday. Minimal Saturday. Not much open Sunday.

Victoria was easily accessed, there were many markets and most people spoke English. There are frequent rain showers that lasted a few minutes which is a relief as it is hot and humid most of the time. The restaurants were great but for South Africans it worked out expensive to eat and drink. There were far too many cars on the road and simply no parking available in Victoria. lovely sights and scenery . The roads that lead over the mountain give way to absolutely breath taking views. The local busses and their drivers were a menace on the road but they provided value for money public transport.

Not the type of capitol city many of us are used too.
Not the type of capitol city many of us are used too. You'll see it all within 2 hours. The tourist offer is pretty slim at best, while any tourist related item prices are very steep. In Seychelles, it's the beaches you'll enjoy, not the city atmosphere.

Victoria is ok, but we spent most of our time renting an apartment (Villa Bella) on the North East point, which was perfect for us. The North East point is far away from any touristy areas, so you'll need a car, which I'd recommend anyways to go to the different beaches, trails, supermarket etc. So stay elsewhere than Victoria is my advice!

As the capital of Seychelles, Victoria is a must see.
As the capital of Seychelles, Victoria is a must see. It is the cultural centre of the country. But the restaurants are very average to poor.
Be prepared to pay tourist rates for everything and forget about coffee, there is none that is drinkable.
For those in a hurry, two days is enough to see Victoria.
Maka Bay was a wonderful surprise for us.
Staff is kind and always available to help with suggestions and reservations. The owner also shared with us a lists of activities which were taking place during our stay.
The room was super clean, with a beautiful view on the ocean and lot of space.
It was full equipped in case you want to prepare your meals.
We spent 5 incredible days at Maka Bay and we fully recommend it.
It’s important to rent a car if you want to visit the island
the view from the hotel over Victoria is truly stunning and very amazing! The food offered (breakfast and dinner) was very delicious and entirely to our liking.
another thing that needs to be highlighted is the staff. everyone was extremely helpful. We even could cancel the last night at the hotel (our flight changed suddenly) and we didn’t have to pay extra, although we technically would have needed to. overall the service was amazing!
the rooms were clean and equipped with AC
Daphne was a great host, she helped us with anything we needed.
The place itself has a very good location - very short walk directly to the beach with a nice snorkeling / shopping opportunities. The supermarket and the bus station are just under the mail road.
Everything was perfectly clean, room and bathroom were very spacious, equiped with everything needed.
The terrace was the best place - beautiful view, outdoor shower, very private.
The Villa Hotel is a perl. Beautiful architecture and furnishings and lifely garden. The view from the side of the mountain is calming and the terrasse welcoming. Great place to relax. Once I figured out the bus system it was easy to get around. One can easily walk to downtown but the uphill is probably not for everybody. Breakfast was wonderful and the dinners just lovely. The stuff is kind and welcoming and helpful. I had a great stay!
Marie-Anne and family are very kind and hospitable.-They gave a very good first impression of Seychellois people.
Papaya Self Catering is situated in a very good location up the mountain. It is very easy to get there by bus and car, nearly impossible to get lost for a first time visitor. Not far from Victoria city centre. Close to shops and a Chinese restaurant. About 20 minutes away from Port Launay beach, which I highly recommend.
Beautiful grounds with lovely outside sunloungers & chairs (some under cover for when it rains - which does in Dec & Jan !) and great views of local hills as well as bay - so even if too wet for nearby beach, could enjoy being outside without feeling were missing out on appreciating the whole experience. Staff were v friendly & helpful and choice of close small & medium size supermarkets.
The hotel has exceeded our expectations! Extremely friendly manager, parking, clean rooms, strong WiFi, good view, coffee machine, complementary water, juice, snacks...
Another point I would like to pay special attention to is the quality of the bed! Wide, clean, white, nice smelling, comfortable... Amazing! Especially after 9 hours flight
Generally the hotel left very good impression
The host and all the staff at the VMA were very helpful and professional. The morning view from the room was amazing, also the beach in front of the property was really beautiful and clean. At the Eden Plaza located on the island there is everything you need, we went for a massage, great dinner and got a great rent a car aswell.
Andrew was an excelente staff, very kind and professional! The room was huge, with a very pleasant balcony overlooking the mountains and the Chef Island. Queen size bed with an orthopedic mattress! Excellent breakfast! Very good Internet! Very nice location, just above the Victoria’s city center, and a quiet place!
We stayed in Tama's appartment during our honeymoon, everything was perfect. Anne-Marie is a lovely host, the apartment was clean and and we had a very nice view from the balcony. The location is very convenient as we could have a walk to Beau vallon beach, and the bus station toward Victoria was just nearby.
Our host Ricky was more than kind, helpful and professional. The apartments are new and sparklingly clean. The view from all the balconies was really nice and we enjoyed it for our morning coffee before we head to some of the beaches. We would definitely recommend this host and would be happy to visit again!
Conveniently situated for airport and dock. We used it for a one night stay before joining a cruise. It’s not a resort hotel or near a beach but perfect for what we needed and extremely good value for money. Great breakfast, comfortable bed and extremely helpful and friendly staff.
Very well placed appartment, 15 minutes from the center of Victoria and market, 15 minutes from the beach, 5 minutes from airport, 5 minutes from little supermarket.
Nice view of the ocean.
The hosts are extremely nice, helpful.
The diner creole make by Jane is delicious
There is a restaurant with soups variety which is rarely in Mahe. The breakfast was good and pretty delicious.
Our room had a balcony with a nice view of Victoria city.
