The staff, especially Ingrid, who gave us exceptional service and made us feel very welcome. The cleanliness and the delightful decor of the rooms. The dining area and all the 'extras' such as fruit, soft drinks, biscuits, crisps, and chocolates that were available. It was a very relaxed and comfortable stay and we would certainly stay here again. This is a very well run comfortable hotel.

An amazing, refurbished medival environment in a 13th century building.
The room was not big, but we very much liked what we got, and the large bed was very comfortable.
The location is ideal for those enjoying to walk about on the narrow and quiet cobble stone streets of the old city.
The staff was very friendly and accomodating.

From the balcony of our room in the Ark building the view over the safari park was magnificent. Bambis visited us in the evening. During the guided 2 hour safari tour we saw many of the animals in the park including deer, mouflon and the European bison. Great food at the restaurant and the breakfast was good.

Three nights were not enough! For us Strandakar made for an ideal home base for exploring the island’s many treasures. Our hosts Charlotte and Lars were the perfect guides in helping us make the most of our days. Breakfasts and dinners were both beautifully prepared and delicious. The bed was comfortable and the room very clean. For all of Strandakar’s charms and beauty, it is the hosts are the magic that makes this place special and one to return to again. Thank you for making our stay so lovely.

Extremely convenient and beautiful building ran by kind people, from the first receptionist to the bar tender Elee and Alvan and a sweet man we met named Joel that was helping with a Maitenence issue! Everyone was so sweet - we had the best time and left a part of our hearts in Kiruna! Can’t wait to return to this wonderful hotel… also, get the junior suite! It’s worth it and hit the spa!!
