It has changed so much in the last 4 years. The tourist demographic has altered dramatically and the legalization of cannabis has not been a good thing (in my opinion). There are more door shops than restaurants and nearly impossible to enjoy a meal without cannabis smoke wafting through the place. Patong Beach itself is beautiful, recommend hiring a sun lounger and watching the world go by with a cold drink. The area it is in, including Bangla Road and the entire beachfront strip is busy and a bit hectic, most of the time. There are some good restaurants if you know where to look but there are also incredibly noisy bars, loads of street touts and at night it can all be a bit overwhelming.Guest review bykarenc286Australia
