The Pool was a refreshing end to busy days out. Location was good- easy getting to and from the hotel out for activities, right next to 7-eleven which was convenient as we didn't pay for breakfast. The spa area was brilliant. Hot and cold jacuzzi with the addition of the sauna that was free to use and open till 9 which worked well for if you are back a bit later.the pool bar did a good deal on cocktails which was a nice way to end a day and good views of the bankok skyline from the pool for pictures. The twin room we got had two double beds which was lovely

All the staff were sooner polite and friendly. The breakfast was exceptional. The other restaurants were equally good with the high standards one would expect from such a hotel. In the heart of BKK and the BTS station is literally 2 minutes away. Rooftop bar was beautiful and great views. Rooms are large and very clean with high quality bedding.

Ideal stopover hotel. Our large family room was excellent - spacious, clean and comfortable. Staff were helpful. Breakfast was superb - we stayed two nights and were disappointed we had to leave early on the first morning and miss breakfast; it really was very good. In our two days exploration, we used the metro system a lot; the hotel, with a short walk, is a good location to access a couple of convenient lines. As a note, it gets painful if you need to change lines, so if it's your first time in Bangkok and you're used to an interconnecting network like London, New York or Paris, Bangkok's different lines don't easily connect on a single ticket. First time back in Bangkok for me for 30 years and I want to go again; the family feel the same.

FAQs about hotels in Bangkok

Something for Everyone in Bangkok

Bangkok never sleeps, or so you might think as you fly into Suvarnabhumi International Airport. From luxurious mega malls like MBK and Siam Discovery in Siam Square to the famous Khao San Road in the Banglamphu district, this hard working city is packed with commerce, fiery food and soothing temples.

Catch a boat up river on the Chao Phraya Express or discover different neighbourhoods on the blissfully air-conditioned BTS Skytrain. A taxi or exhilarating tuk-tuk ride is never far away from the big attractions, which include Chinatown, Jim Thompson House and the floating markets at Damnoen Saduak.

To step out of the frenetic energy of street food stalls, amulet markets and the sizzling temperatures, discover an oasis of calm in one of the many Buddhist temples. Be awed by the majesty of the Grand Palace and marvel at the world’s longest reclining Buddha at Wat Pho. While you’re there why not relax even more with a traditional Thai massage?

From the sky-scraping luxury hotels with world famous rooftop bars to a cheap hostel bed in the centre of town, Booking.com will help you explore all Bangkok has to offer.

Huge city with huge traffic, kindness on every corner. I was annoying only because of tuktuk drivers, but I understand their job, they need to be very committed to earn some money 😉. The best street food of the world, a lot of temples, shopping centres, this city never sleep. Transport working awesomely. BTS, ARL, GRAB, boats, you get everywhere without the problem. Really nice city. And as a bonus you getting safety. You can walk everywhere without the fear. I was there alone and for sure I come back as soon as possible

There are so many things to discover in and around Bangkok, Phuket , Pattaya . Strange , most of the people in India have completely a specific mindset and image about Thailand . Perhaps , they have no idea how to explore a country, location, culture , values of the land . I strongly recommend one full day spend at Ancient City ( MUEANG BORAN ), otherwise your trip to Bangkok INCOMPLETE .

This is a safe, nice, vibrant, amazing city for a solo traveler. Shopping, food, relaxation, bars, club, spa Bangkok has it all. Shopping malls closes at 22:00. Spa/Massage center are open late night around 23.30. Train also runs late till 12 at night. Buses to travel around the city. You can also travel by boat on Chao Phraya River especially night view is amazing. You can also use Airport Rail Link which is located at the Basement of the Suvarnabhumi Airport to travel to the city just by 45 baht.

What an amazingly vibrant city, so much to see and do.

What an amazingly vibrant city, so much to see and do. Loved seeing the riverfront and Wat Pho, the Grand Palace and the markets all around the city! The traffic is unbelievably fast and dense, but many options for transit make the city easy to navigate. For a big city, we felt pretty safe travelling around, although , as with any large city, it is important to stay vigilant and be sensible when in unfamiliar areas. All in all, we didn't see nearly as much as we wanted, so worth a return visit!

Lots to do and lots to see.

Lots to do and lots to see. We took 9 days and didn't even scratch the surface of the city. Sukhumvit was a great place to stay (can't go past "The Night Hotel" for value and location), walking distance to all means of transport, and the Terminal 21 Shopping Centre (a must see while you are there). Bangkok provides fantastic food options, shopping, and plenty of cultural things to see and do. Would highly recommend shopping at Iconsiam...a trip to Chatuchak markets...a dinner cruise on the river...a walk through Chinatown and little India (use google maps and you can walk from one to the other)...and make the effort to get to the Srinagarinda Train Night Market (a bit out of the way, but one of the highlights). Finally, if you want to spoil yourself one night, go to El Guacho Steak House (next to T21 shopping Centre). It's a bit pricey compared to most other places, but the food and atmosphere are amazing. To make travel easier be sure to download the "Bolt" app (it's the equivalent of Uber). Whilst the trains are quicker, booking a car on Bolt is less pressure (you know what you are paying before you get in, you can follow the journey on a map in real time, and the cars are all air-con, and very well kept). It was our first time to Thailand, and we will definitely be going back!

Although in the centre of Bangkok, this hotel is very close to a direct rail link to Suvarnabhumi airport, and is a higher quality hotel than many of those situated near the airport, indeed the rail fare to/from the airport to Rachaprarop station, is cheaper than the taxi fare required to reach the hotels close to the airport, so it makes good money sense to stay at the Siam Star.
