Amazing property- a mansion with about 6 rooms, really pretty and characteristic. Very close to the old city of Mardin. Nice terrace to have tea and coffee and view the valley.
Zuhal and Lokman were amazing hosts and they looked after us so well, especially after the accident my friend had and hurt her foot in the city. They arranged a car for the hospital and back and made sure we were looked after. Thank you once again Lokman and Zuhal.

The minute you step in to this Sems Inn, you get the Mardin feeling. The music, lights, atmosphere and the view makes you feel like you are at an ancient era. It feels so authentic. The room is mix between what you first seen and modern times. Bed was very comfortable. You have the facilities you want.
The owner is from the area and knows the history. He welcomed us well, offered us tea/coffee all the time. He also helped us where to visit, where to eat, what to eat…
The time we visited Mardin was cold, but the room was hot enough. You may want to plug the radiator to bathroom an hour before taking a shower. There is no radiator in the bathroom, I think it is due to it being a historic type building.
Breakfast was traditional and plenty. They serve it when you want it. Eating while watching the nice view was amazing.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay.
I would recommend staying here for authentic Mardin feeling.

There were no signboard of the hotel in the area which is very absurd.
There was no reception to check in-out. Kind of creepy. It was located inside the narrow and deep side of the area. The responsible person was welcoming but again they were away from the hotel which is not comfortable.
Bathroom was awful.
Some wall sockets were not working and even when we tried to plug in for tv, it gave some electrical lights…

The old town is quite charming.
The old town is quite charming. The highlight for us were the ancient churches so beautifully maintained/restored and that Arabs, Kurds and the very small Christian minority live together harmoniously. Everyone seemed so gracious and kind.

A beautiful town, completely different from the Turkiye...
A beautiful town, completely different from the Turkiye known by those who visit the coast. Kurdish, not Turkish, with Christian buildings going back to the fourth century and a culture that encompasses many religions and languages. A good base for a day trip (with guide) to Midyat and other local sites. Plenty of restaurants, serving wide variety of foods. Wine shops, selling local wines, but no bars in the old town.
Really wish we had read more before going. Pictures show the beautiful pale-coloured buildings climbing up the hillside but not the fact that the 'roads' are more often steps. Wonderful small narrow streets, a copper bazaar where people were at work, incredible churches, mosques and madrasas - but you need to have good hips and knees!
An excellent Hamam, open for men mornings and evenings, for women in the afternoons.
For anyone interested in early Christianity, in cultural melting pots, or in somewhere unlike most tourist towns, Mardin and Midyat, and the necropolis at Dara, the area is exceptional. Allow about four days and bring sensible shoes.
Good and cheap bus service from the airport, no need to use taxis.

This was the second time to visit Mardin, this time during a small road trip. Mardin is a place were you don not see Western people. Please do not mention it, otherwise it will ruined as other old citys. Atmosfere specicial on the market is like 200years old. Views are amazing, and most important the people.

Mardin old town is a remarkable destination - fabulous architecture, great shopping, many wonderful restaurants, and world renown historic sites nearby. We stayed at Fairouz Konak Otel, which we would highly recommend - it is a historic building in the heart of Mardin old town, within easy walking distance of many restaurants and stores, We were welcomed by our thoughtful host with delicious offerings of food and drink; he was able to answer all our questions about his city. The hotel was memorable for its charming rooms, fantastic panoramic views from many terraces, delicious breakfasts, and excellent host and staff, We highly recommend a visit to Mardin and a stay at Fairouz Konak Otel!

Everything exceeded our expectations. Atmosphere of the hotel corresponds to that of the town. You feel like in an ancient castle!
Spacious room, clean bathroom and toilet, beautiful view and of course - the amazingly hospitable host Nuh. He arranged everything we needed, a tour around the region, taxis and transfers.
The breakfast was traditional and plentiful. The location of the hotel is perfect- walking distance to all sights in Mardin. Wi-Fi is perfect even in the rooms. We definitely recommend Carra Konagi and will return for sure.
A wonderful stay where staff go above and beyond with their service and cleanliness. The rooms are spotless, the location is in a great spot, in Old Mardin with touristic spots nearby. The staff will stop at nothing to ensure your stay at Mardin is everything you wanted. The only thing I’d pick on is the amount of stairs taken to get there BUT this is in no way the hotels fault as Mardin has stairs everywhere to get to anywhere! Highly recommend this place, we will definitely be coming back!
This feels much more than hotel, you really feel like guest. Breakfast wins nr1 breakfast EVER, great rooftop view, perfect location in the most beautiful street of Mardin. Talia and her family are great hosts, always with smile. Her son Mohamed baked a cake for all guests one evening and served with ice cream, which was AMAZING!
Rooms are beautiful!
Very beautiful hotel with wonderful rooms and location including the terrace with a magnificent view. Own parking spot and staff that will help you with anything. The rooms are spacious and in 2 types: beautiful historical look (stone house) and modern look. The main street of historical Mardin and the historical sites are on walking distance.
