More that a drop is great! Beautiful, quiete place that is still a walkable distance to town (30min) or quick taxi ride. Food was especially stellar and veggie friendly. Breakfast is great, very delicious fruits and eggs made fresh every morning. The homemade spreads including guacamole was an especially nice touch

We loved our stay at the Honey Badger Lodge! Super beautiful pool area, restaurant and huts. Our room was very big with a separate shower room and bathroom. The staff were very friendly and I loved my massage. One of the best ones I had in years! The food was all right, nothing amazing but good value for money.

The weather is great - quite cool at this time of year.
The weather is great - quite cool at this time of year. The town is clean and well labelled. It is a small town so its very serene and has little traffic jam. I consider it a great stop-over if heading to Dar es salaam by road from the Kenya side.

It's a busy but friendly city, I was grateful to not be driving myself anywhere. Taxis are very easy to get. It helps to have someone local who can help you navigate. The food is great and the people are kind.

Leafy town on the southern slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro.
Leafy town on the southern slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro. The town itself does not have a real center, just a tacky sculpture of Mt. Kilimanjaro in the center of a roundabout.
However, if you stay a little bit outside of town then you can enjoy the unique location.

There is a lot of really nice restaurants(indointaliano is one of the best) and the view of Kilimanjaro is amazing. Moshi is the best place to find a company which will take you to the summit of Kilimanjaro. You can also do day trips from Moshi to Materuni waterfalls or Kikuletwa Hot Springs.

There is absolutely nothing to do in Moshi and is only good if you do a tour or two and hike Kilimanjaro. When you are done with those, get out! The do have a Regional Immigration Office that will extend your visa for 30 days if you need it.

Our room was very beautiful, big and nicely decorated. The shower was very big, with hot water and good water pressure. On the contrary, the WC was quite small and not really comfortable. The work done by the gardener is incredible and wonderful, all the area looks like a tropical botanical garden with several kind of flowers and trees. The premises are quiet as the hotel is located in the outskirts of the town but not far from it.
Friendly staff.
The property was very central, rooms were clean and secure, and all of the staff were absolutely fantastic. It’s priced very reasonably and Erasto was able to arrange several excursions (coffee tour, safaris, other tours, and transportation) for me, also at very good prices. As a solo female traveler I found it a welcoming and safe place to get my bearings and explore Tanzania from. It also has a great view of Kilimanjaro from the rooftop bar.
That was our first days in Tanzania and that was the best welcome we could ever hope for
First of all the nature in the village is astonishing
Victor, Janet, Honest, Baraka, Justin, Elizabeth, the (best) shef made us feel at home, amazing people sharing folklore stories, day trips, best local food ever! The fire in the evening, and the view of the mountain from the balconies and garden is breath taking
Asante sana
It was amazing! A home far from home. We felt warmly welcomed by Zach and Ruth. The room are clean but sparse but it doesn’t matter as you will spend most of your time on the terrasse with view on Kilimanjaro. It is in the nature and very green. A perfect place to meet other travellers. I would 100% come back for another stay in Tanzania.
Peter and his team went above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable while providing plenty of advice on the area and our travel plans across Tanzania. Our room was clean with a comfortable bed and the hostel was well equipped with everything you need. I wouldn’t hesitate again to stay at Karibu Africa Home!
