We loved everything about the Dagny. Great staff with friendly service in a fantastic location (financial district, bordering the North End). We were able to walk almost anywhere and it was super safe and secure. The beds were so comfortable, the bathroom was beautiful and clean and overall, we just loved everything about the stay.

FAQs about hotels in Boston

Where Everybody Knows Your Name

One of the oldest and most historic US cities, Boston is known as "America’s Walking City". In its heart, next to 18th-century Faneuil Hall, is Quince Market - a food haven. In the nearby seaport, you can take a whale-watching trip or dine at one of the many restaurants serving a Boston specialty: lobster with melted butter.

The streets south of the peaceful Charles River in Back Bay are lined with Victorian brownstone houses. At the downtown end of one – Beacon Street – is the Cheers bar, modeled on the 80's sitcom. Opposite is Boston Common, a large park with a bronze sculpture celebrating the book "Make Way for Ducklings". The golden dome of the House of Representatives is by the other end.

The oldest part is Charlestown and streets around the Bunker Hill obelisk still feature old-style gas lamps, though now they are electric. Over in Cambridge, Harvard is the USA’s oldest and most prestigious university. The campus is open to the public, as is Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), whose central point is an emblematic, Pantheon-like building.

Sport in Boston is also a big thing, with the Celtics and Red Sox among the city’s big name teams.

The largest New England city, Boston has the perfect size for walking and cycling. Logan International Airport is connected by public transport to Boston hotels, motels, apartments and B&Bs.

Getting around Boston is quite easy.

Getting around Boston is quite easy. The subway stations are often nearby and convenient to get around town. JFK Presidential Library and Museum and the Museum of Fine Arts are great places I highly recommend. Boston Burger Company and South Street Diner are great places to eat.

I was in town for a short business trip, not as a tourist/for pleasure, so no reviews of tourist attractions. I usually eat dinner at Pho Pasteur when I stay at HI Boston, but I arrived late, after 9; the desk clerk suggested Waka Waka, which is open until 11:30, and it was a cool little place with the best ramen and karaage I've had in a long time. Also, I'm not from Andorra, though I live for the mountains and would love to vacation there; I'm an East Coast native who spent most of the past four decades in the Pacific Northwest and now lives on Cape Cod.

I didn't have much time to spend in Boston but I have been there before and it never disappoints. Easy public transportation and as a senior I have a reduce fare Charley card. which is nice. Didn't experience any restaurants on this visit. Boston is a very interesting and diverse city which I consider a plus.

We arrived in Boston on the evening of the 22nd December, from the UK. We left the following morning to drive to Stowe, Vermont for Christmas, which was wonderful. We then had a couple of days in New Hampshire before returning to Boston for a 4 night stay in the Millennium Bostonian. We have visited Boston many times, its a great city, we will always return.

Beautiful architecture, museums, restaurants and history!

Beautiful architecture, museums, restaurants and history! We had a lovely afternoon at the SOWA Winter Market, then a lovely few hours at Petit Robert, sipping gorgeous wines with very delicious French food. We had dinner at Baleia, a new Portugeuse restaurant that was very chic and delicious. Boston is such an easy city to stroll around! the Christmas lights on the Boston Common were magical! We visited the gem of the Isabella Stuart Museum and strolled through Beacon Hill and Charles Street. We luncheoned at Carmelina's in the North End, where we stuffed ourselves with homemade pasta, with dreams of relishing more delectable delights in the myriad restaurants of the Back Bay, the South End and Chinatown on our next visit. With visits to the many museums of Harvard and the Museum of Fine Arts. I need a month!
