Excellent location, walking distance to to all restaurants. Very friendly and helpful staff members. Happy hours every day from 5 to 7. During Christmas Lights show in December at Pine Lodge free bus stops just across the street to bring people to and back from show. Will stay at The Rigdon again.

We have been coming to Cambria for years.

We have been coming to Cambria for years. Love everything about it. The food, the quaint shops, the beautiful beach and serenity . The Sea Chest and Moonstar Bar &Grill is a must! You need to arrive at the Sea Chest at least an hour before opening. Take a chair and a bottle of wine and get line! Well worth the wait.

My favorite weekend getaway in the Central Coast.

My favorite weekend getaway in the Central Coast. None of the hassles of staying in Big Sur. Cambria has a dozen excellent restaurants, an organic grocery, a couple of fine bars, several excellent coffee shops for breakfast, and it is minutes away from some of the most exquisitely beautiful coastal walks and rugged coastal beaches and headlands. We always walk six miles or more along the coastal paths every day when we visit. You'll find the paths along Route 1 at the turnouts. There are a dozen turnouts between Cambria and Cayucos. Fiscalini Preserve is a gem, right on the ocean front and free of charge. Also the beach at Hearst Castle is terrific, nice sand for laying out in the sun, calm cool water in a protected bay, and a worldclass hike to the headlands along a wooded path. Hearst Castle is only about 20 minutes from Cambria: one visit to that estate is enough, it's an absurd rich man's fantasy artfully assembled by one of the most talented architects California has ever produced. Cambria is a much better option than the other towns near Hearst Castle. If you happen to own dogs, Cambria is a super dog-friendly town, and there is a 4 mile dog beach south of Cayucos where you can run and play and swim with your dogs in the ocean. Paso Robles is a reasonable distance if you want to go on a drive for a wine tour or fine dining. Mostly we just go to Cambria to unwind, walk in nature, and enjoy the local restaurants which are very good. Super chill, friendly and laid back. To me, it is like a trip backward in time to the days of California long before the coast got overdeveloped and tacky.

Cambria is well located.

Cambria is well located. We explored the town as well as the surrounding areas. We travelled along Highway 1 north to Ragged Point and south to Los Osos. The beautiful ragged coastline is simply majestic! Cambria is close to CA46 so we made a trip to Paso Robles as well. Our trip highlights included a guided tour of the Piedras Blancas Light House, the Elephant Seals Lookout Point near San Simeon, the simply Awesome Bluff Trail on Montana de Oro in Los Osos, and we also made a side trip to Mission San Antonio de Padua (excellent museum) and returned via the Nacimiento-Fergusson Road. Lots to do and see for sure - and Cambria makes an excellent base!

Cambria is a gem.

Cambria is a gem. It's not over-run with tourists and has nice places to stay. It has Robin's Restaurant which is really an excellent place, with a great outdoor patio. The French Bakery is also nice. There are stellar wineries to visit on Hwy 46 from Paso Robles. Also, Fiscalini Ranch Preserve has a spectacular bluff trail at the ocean. Not to be missed!

It has a beautiful long stretch of nice walking trial along the ocean. The houses along the ocean drive are all very cute with beautiful landscaping so it is very pleasant to take a stroll or drive through. There are tons of restaurants right off the ocean. LYNN'S RESTAURANT on the main street is absolutely wonderful with the best homemade jam I have ever tasted so I bought a couple of them to take home.

I love the area and have stayed there multiple times and it’s always been great but not this time. We arrived at 915pm and the office was not open , there was just a note saying to go to their sister property down the street. When we finally got in our room it was very hot because they left the fireplace pilot on. As I got ready for bed I saw some small piece of chocolate on the floor. Kind of gross. Then the next morning I saw a dorito on the floor . When I went in the closet I saw dust all along the door runners . I also saw mildew in the bathroom. I asked for the room to be thoroughly but we returned to a still dirty room . Won’t ever return

Its in a great spot overlooking moonstone beach. The staff were very pleasant and helpful but I would say the room was a little "tired'. There was a huge gas log fire which did not give out any heat at all! There is a small patio area that serves drinks (mostly wine) and quite limited snacks all provided by a local restaurant but it wasn't quite what we had expected and though pleasant enough could have been fantastic given the location.

The rooms were just perfect and you are on moonstone beach in Cambria. You just have to cross the road and you can enjoy a lovely walk along the moonstone beach board walk. It is near to all you want to see in Cambria. It helps that the rooms were fabulous, beds incredibly comfortable and the staff were very accommodating and helpful. We would highly recommend a stay at the Fogcatcher in!

Comfortable one night stay on our way south. Spacious room. Lovely area with ocean & great boardwalk opposite the hotel. Nice to be able to walk to nearby bar and restaurants. Good to have breakfast included.
