The in-room refrigerator was the coldest lodging refrigerator I have ever seen. Most in-room refrigerators are apparently designed to save money in operation by not being very cold. We really enjoyed the very cold temperature for our in-room beverages.

Hotel Renew is in the perfect spot. It’s not on the main road of Waikiki, just one block in. There’s an ABC Store right next to the hotel which makes it perfect to grab food, drinks, etc… The hotel staff were very nice and informative. We would recommend this place.

The location of this hotel is amazing. The staff were great and the lobby was nice and it was attached to a popular restaurant, Lulu's, which was a great bonus. It also came with free access to another store where you could rent beach chairs etc. I'd recommend the hotel and perhaps try to get an upgraded/modern room as the staff and location were great!

FAQs about hotels in Honolulu

A True Water Sports Paradise

Standing proudly on the island of Oahu in the Pacific Ocean, Honolulu is the Hawaiian capital, meaning "a sheltered bay." Spreading along the white sandy beaches and supported by the strong back of the volcanic mountains, it's a real island paradise.

Honolulu's most popular and famous district, Waikiki, features the stunning Waikiki Beach decorated with hundreds of surfboards, palms and lounge chairs. It’s also a center for the city’s nightlife and shopping, especially along Kalakaua and Kuhio Avenues.

As the most popular activities in Honolulu include surfing, snorkeling, canoeing and other water sports, it's no surprise the city has a number of sandy beaches. Try Hanauma Bay, a crescent-shaped beach with rolling, green hills behind it.

For fans of hiking and exploring, nature awaits at Diamond Head Mountain, a volcanic tuff cone where you can admire the panoramic view of the city. There is also the Bishop Museum with the world’s largest collection of Hawaiian and Pacific artifacts and the Waikiki Aquarium with over 490 species of marine fauna and flora.

From hotels near Honolulu International Airport to hotels near the beach, Booking.com has plenty of properties, from cheap to luxury, for your Honolulu trip.

What Guests Said About Honolulu:

Honolulu is a big city with big city things to do.

Honolulu is a big city with big city things to do. You aren't going to run out of activities in a hurry. Oahu is a pretty heavily populated island - lots to do but lots of people. But it depends on what you're looking for in a Hawaiian experience. On the other hand Maui, Kawaii (when it's not raining) and the big island are much more integrated into the nature of Hawaii - quieter and less crowded.

All amenities of a large city with the benefit of being on a tropical Island. Honolulu offers you everything you want and need but also gives you the opportunity to find quiet places. If you like being with other people, you can go to Waikiki beach, if you want to be alone you can go further north with more remote beaches which are still connected to the city.

The beaches here are very crowded.

The beaches here are very crowded. If you have a car, driving 6 to 10 miles east give you beautiful beaches and not crowded. The bus can also take you there. Great busses. Inexpensive w friendly drivers. The can take you all around the island. Note where you want to go and then drive there. Btw if you want a cheap car rental use Turo.

Honolulu is great for first time visit.

Honolulu is great for first time visit. It was a good base as we divided our time between car rentals to explore to quieter days walking and beach. It's a very accommodating city for all. We ate at places like Norths Shore food trucks, Monkey Pod and Steak Shack and Maui Brewery. The luau we chose to make reservations for was at the Disney Aulani. it was excellent from the story telling, food and customer service.

Clean and comfortable hotel in the center of Waikiki, Honolulu. The main street of Waikiki is about 1 minute, Waikiki Beach is about a 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast is simple (continental), but sufficient. We were given a room with a higher level of comfort without extra charge. Towels for the beach are available for free. There is a dedicated smoking area in the little garden of the hotel. A little pool, sunbeds and hanging chairs for relaxing are also available. Highly recommended.

The hotel is located in Waikiki (second row), it only takes you a few minutes to walk to Waikiki beach and many Waikiki restaurants. The hotel also offers free beach gear such as towels, beach umbrellas and beach mats. Our room fee also included a solid breakfast with fresh fruit. You can also get coffee and water in the hotel lobby all day. The staff at the reception desk is very friendly and well-trained. Valet-parking is - compared to other hotels in Waikiki - rather cheap and very efficient.

I am born and raised in Hawaii and took my daughter back to show her where I came from. I live in Australia. Did the big real local vibe but needed some tourist action. Love the hotel love the room… But Waikiki is something I will do only on the occasion. Room was amazing and views were incredible, but everything else was just a bit chaotic. Hospitality of staff was incredible! on my return, I will always connect to this hotel/resort. 🌺❤️

This hotel was perfect for me. The location is easily walkable to everything while being a little quieter than being right in the middle of Waikiki. The rooms are much lovelier than I expected from the photos, and have a great Hawaiian feel. Well equipped kitchenette and I loved the lei making class on Monday. Just an overall really nice vibe here. I work in accommodation and hospitality and highly recommend.
