The ocean was often very dirty because it's very industrial around there. I would recommend Seal Beach or Redondo to have a much nicer water. It's also not a city I would walk around in. It was just a good base for us with a cheap motel.

Location was great, the proximity to Long Beach Airport was very convenient. The property's proximity was close to shopping and restaurants and to Lakewood California restaurants as well. I was there to finalize funeral arrangements for my mom, so I did not visit beaches and attractions.

Long Beach is such an inviting and relaxing place to unwind.
Long Beach is such an inviting and relaxing place to unwind. After checking in to the Hyatt Regency, we stopped for lunch across the street. We enjoyed a hearty and delicious lunch at Island's Restaurant. We ordered a Maui Burger, the Moa Crisp, and the Longboarder. All excellent!
After sunset, we spent an hour at Rainbow Lagoon Park paddling on the darling Swan Boats. The Swans light up at night & make for a very romantic date.

Never knew there were so many hidden and interesting gems in LB! The Earl Miller Japanese Garden (at CSULB), Los Alamitos Ranch, The Queen Mary (a tour is worthwhile, the engine room is very cool and the sheer history of photos and information is great, never mind all the fantastic art deco decor) to name a few. Definitely recommend Speak Cheesy, Gusto Bread Bakery, and L'Opera. Parking can be a pain but we generally found places or there was always a garage near by. Driving over terminal island provides an interesting glimpse into large scale logistics!

Loved the harbor area close to the Ferris wheel and Queen Mary. The Memorial Pier needs renovated and policed due to the vagrants loitering on and under the pier. A group of three was huddled up on the pier and acting very strangely. This type of behavior was common place for meth users and as I walked past I noticed one of the females with a meth pipe in her hand. None of them bothered my wife and I but just not a good look for Long Beach. I know this isn’t just in Long Beach unfortunately. My small hometown has this issue as well.
Upside was a production crew was setting up to shoot a film for Netflix, the movie being produced is called “One Attempt Remaining “ not sure when it supposed to be released. Be on the lookout for it.

This was a great hotel, really clean and comfortable. We found it very quiet except for a party on the Saturday night but we managed to drown out the noise by putting the fan on loud. It was a great location for us as we were walking distance from the Walter pyramid. There were food places all around us, a great cafe a few steps away and a 7 eleven a 10 min walk away. We walked to sprouts Market for an amazing range of food which was about a 20/25 min walk away. I felt the price was great, cheaper than other hotels too. We enjoyed our stay

Great Hotel just renovated the rooms. Great Bathroom, nice and spacious room. Awesome Bed! Breakfast was good with scrambled Eggs, Hash Browns, Bacon, Bagles, Cereals, waffles and nice Coffee- Machine for all kings of coffee (Latte macchiato, Chocolate and so on) I just loved the breakfast.

As hotel guests we were able to enjoy the Queen Mary in full quietness and style. Bejing it the evening drink at the forward most bar or doing yoga all alone on the sundeck. This all with very friendly and helpful hosts. Flashback into the glorious times of Ocean Liners.
