Location and view were great. We hiked up Spring Hill, which had incredible views of Mount Shasta. Also check out the Headwaters, which are the source of the Sacramento River. The waters come from under Mt Shasta, and travel through lava tubes! But back to the cabin, it was perfect!

The entire home was very comfortable. We really appreciated that there were 2 bathrooms. One for the upstairs guests and one for the downstairs guests. The living room was perfect for the 4 of us to sit around and chat and visit.

The town of Mt. Shasta is quaint and funky; had an awesome filet at Sparky's; explored a little around Lake Siskiyou but spent most of my time there at Castle Crags State Park. So much to do in the "north state" as they call northern California. Need to come back with more time!

This is a beautiful area to explore.
This is a beautiful area to explore. We hiked to Heart Lake and swam. Make sure you do not do this hike in the heat of the day as it is all uphill on the way there. We hiked to McCloud Falls Middle Falls and took a dip in the cold water. We wish we had more time here.

You have to visit the headwaters to the Sacramento River...
You have to visit the headwaters to the Sacramento River which is located in the city park just as you are leaving town if you're heading north! Google Mt. Shasta headwaters!! Don't forget to bring a water bottle of two~ The water is one of the many reasons I love going to Mt. Shasta. It's also very nice to leave an offering if you are going to take anything from the area. I usually bring some sage to burn, will hide a little crystal in the water or around some of the trees. I've also left some tobacco as an offering. You don't have to, but it would be great if you did! Also, don't forget to visit the great Nursery as you are leaving the park. They've got some great plants and different yard decorations to add to your home collections~~

Very nice Inn, used by generations.
Very nice Inn, used by generations. Great view of Shasta and walking distance to town for meals if needed. We ate in our room with microwave, refrigerator, and table and chairs. We only stayed overnight on our way home so visit was not for sightseeing.

We like the city with all its new age type stuff, fresh water fountain always flowing at the corner and great pizza options. I'll leave you to find which one we always go to. We really do try to make sure we get to town before they close. We also like the way the city really feels close to and connected with the not too far off mountain. There are also some really excellent water falls in nearby Dunsmir if you have just a little time and the inclination. Not to far off Mossbrae Falls is really outstanding and there are others, but if you've got even more time, then Burney Falls is just beyond!

Shasta has a great little downtown with shops and some unique restaurants and bars. Yak's Shack is a funky restaurant with great food and outside seating. The area has tremendous hiking and Lake Siskiyou is 10 minutes away and is a great place to swim.
I love the vibe of the place and the mountain, of course, is spectacular! In the winter, there is lots of skiing and outdoor adventures to be had. In the summer you can relax and hike it's beautiful mountain.

A quaint motel style stay in the lovely town of Mount Shasta. I loved it here as it has character. Nice room, comfy bed, all clean and fresh, breakfast is made to order as you go to the dining room rather than help yourself. We were offered waffles and fruit which was really nice. There is a communal patio area front and back of the hotel. Perfect for star gazing after a long day. We ate at the Mexican restaurant right next door, handy and enjoyable
This is family operated small hotel. You could not find may of them left in California now. Room was big enough and clean with comfortable bed. Owner provided excellent home made breakfast. Tea and chocolate cupcakes served whole day. It is short ride from Mt Shasta town. My wife left reader in the room. I called and asked to send it to us. We got it back by USPS a couple of days later. I can highly recommend tis hotel.
We stayed in a cabin and it was great to have the extra room and fireplace. We could also park right in front our door, which is nice when it is cold outside. Hotel is a short drive to downtown, but Harvest Restaurant in the property is a quite good option. I specially enjoyed the pasta with duck ragu... My wife forgot her phone in the room and hotel called us on it.
Beautifully Renovated Property, Modernised inside and out, fantastic views of mount Shasta and situated perfectly with access to many places in walking distance. Room was immaculate, bed was large, clean and very comfy. Sheets were soft and high quality, room was filled with all amenities and needed and many nice features and touches, building also felt very secure.
No breakfast at this facility. Breakfast available in town. Very friendly. Rooms very clean with all you need for longer stays.
Mount Shasta is a nice little town and a great start for hiking in the Natl. Forest or up the mountain.
