United StatesThe coffee was amazing and the breakfast was hot and convenient. It's not award winning but good enough to tide you over. The location was perfect just two blocks off Frenchman and a 10 min walk to Cafe du Monde. The hotel is brand new despite what you see on google maps street view. The staff were super friendly. You have to remember New Orleans is part of the south so no one is in a big rush. You should slow down too and enjoy. It was quiet and we slept like babies with the super comfortable bed and pillows.

The home of jazz, intriguing New Orleans evokes images of Louis Armstrong, wrought-iron balconies and mouth-watering Cajun cuisine. Louisiana’s largest city, the Big Easy is the beating heart of the Deep South.
Dance down Bourbon Street, where jazz saxophones ring out of traditional bars mixed with more colorful nightlife and entertainment venues. There are several New Orleans hotels near Bourbon Street, spread around the French Quarter with its distinctive Creole architecture.
To the south is Jackson Square, dominated by St. Louis Cathedral. Horses and carts wait patiently by the square, and locals set up their stools and start playing catchy tunes. Just behind is the legendary Mississippi River whose waters are still plied by paddle steamers.
From the river you get great views of the CBD (downtown) skyscrapers and the Louisiana Superdome. Booking.com has several hotels nearby, including some on Canal Street, where streetcars and the famous New Orleans Mardi Gras carnival pass down.
In the northern suburbs is New Orleans City Park, one of the oldest US parks and larger than NYC’s Central Park. Waterways lining it flow into large Lake Pontchartrain bordered by a bayou.

I was able to go back home as a tourist.
I was able to go back home as a tourist. This hotel sit in the heart of the garden district. I was able to walk to all my favorite restaurants and the bonus was the authentic new orleans coner store brother!!! This hotel is a 4 star the only reason why I didn't give it a 5 is because there's no parking lot for non valet parking. So my rental was hit over night on the last day.

LOVE Nola-the good bad & the ugly...it does not deter me. The city is better it seems staying with IV Waste (they do an amazing job) and glad Lantrell is gone as mayor. City was clean but of course the potholes and streets need fixing.

I would definitely utilize the trolleys if possible.
I would definitely utilize the trolleys if possible. At least to get you close to your destination within walking distance. However, we did have to uber several times in the fares were reasonable considering being in the city.

We were only in NO for one night however, I have visited NO...
We were only in NO for one night however, I have visited NO previous times. We were there for a concert and had a wonderful time! We were able to uber to our destination and we actually walked around to site see for a few blocks. I would not recommend walking outside of the popular main streets. Overall, we enjoyed our time in NO and are likely to visit again!

The people were all so friendly and helpful. Carry a small umbrella in case of rain. Breakfast was delicious at Envie, the Clover Grill and Ayu Bakehouse with vegetarian options. The paddleboat ride on the Natchez was great! We did the lunch cruise and the food was good, esp. the salad dressing (sugar cane vinaigrette) and the bread pudding! Also the small airboat ride with Bayou Swamp tours was such fun and we will go again next time. The WW II museum is a must but will take at least 4-5 hours to do it justice. The Frenchman hotel is an easy walk to most places and was wonderful to stay at. The Spotted Cat had the best music but get there before 8:30 or you won't get a seat and will have to stand.

I liked New Orleans. It's a nice City. The public transportation is very good.
I liked the trams, took ride to the Garden District, and to the Ferry. Took a 2 day tour with the Hop on, Hop off bus too, including a walking tour thru the Garden District. Walked in the French Quarter, and took the Ferry to Algiers Point. Amtrak Station is a short tram ride a way, in walking distant too. Many restaurants, and shops in Downtown New Orleans. I felt safe wherever I was.

My partner and I had a really lovely time in New Orleans and Rathbone Mansions was perfect for what we needed in a hotel. The room was a decent size, and clean with air conditioning. We also much enjoyed the pool area as it was exceptionally hot and muggy while we were there. The location was ideal as it was walking distance to the French Quarter but still far enough to have some peace and quiet in between tourist activities.

Strange hotel with very very nice employees. Looks like nothing, but turned out be very nice.
Nice big room, cleen and nice bathrom, more quiet than I would think possible. Downtown, at the very edge of civilisation where downtown turn less nice. Short walk from French Quarter. I enjoyed my stay and the not so posh or upscale area. The girls running the hotel could not have been nicer or more helpful.

Room was large, comfortable and well equipped with coffee machine, fridge, hairdryer, iron and ironing board.
Location was excellent on canal street with a tram stop directly outside and about a 10 min walk to the French quarter. Would recommend and if returning to New Orleans I would book the hotel again.
