The staff was very kind and helpful. It was the second time for us there, the location is great, and the "kick back" is very convenient, especially on a business trip.

Everything was awesome. Starting from the location … one block from Bourbon Street with its bars, music venues and restaurants … but completely quiet when one decides to retire from the nightlife. Beautiful suites with large living room, large bed room, kitchenette … the works. Large common space with a (smallish) pool. Very welcoming homely service

FAQs about hotels in New Orleans

Getting its Rhythm Back

The home of jazz, intriguing New Orleans evokes images of Louis Armstrong, wrought-iron balconies and mouth-watering Cajun cuisine. Louisiana’s largest city, the Big Easy is the beating heart of the Deep South.

Dance down Bourbon Street, where jazz saxophones ring out of traditional bars mixed with more colorful nightlife and entertainment venues. There are several New Orleans hotels near Bourbon Street, spread around the French Quarter with its distinctive Creole architecture.

To the south is Jackson Square, dominated by St. Louis Cathedral. Horses and carts wait patiently by the square, and locals set up their stools and start playing catchy tunes. Just behind is the legendary Mississippi River whose waters are still plied by paddle steamers.

From the river you get great views of the CBD (downtown) skyscrapers and the Louisiana Superdome. Booking.com has several hotels nearby, including some on Canal Street, where streetcars and the famous New Orleans Mardi Gras carnival pass down.

In the northern suburbs is New Orleans City Park, one of the oldest US parks and larger than NYC’s Central Park. Waterways lining it flow into large Lake Pontchartrain bordered by a bayou.

New Orleans is in a serious state of decline.

New Orleans is in a serious state of decline. Crime is high and the surrounding neighborhoods are extremely poor. More and more businesses are leaving. What’s left is a dirty, high crime rate dilapidated city. It’s so sad what has become of NOLA.

This was our third trip to New Orleans.

This was our third trip to New Orleans. I'm interested in the JFK Assassination and Oswald spent a lot of time here. Online I found a tour of the sites associated with Oswald. never could make a reservation. When we got here, found it just doesn't exist. From the hotel we walked to dinner which was near the coffee company where Oswald worked. We walked to Canal street and took a streetcar to Tulane and saw a basketball game. We walked to the cemetery.

We stayed away from the very touristy blocks of Bourbon Street, and spent two evenings on Frenchmen Street with a bit more authentic vibe. Take the streetcars to get around where possible. A hidden gem is the Sculpture Garden at City Park. Enjoyed a fantastic lunch at Commander's Palace, and a quirky evening at Bacchanal.

Visited the first week in January and the weather was perfect: mid-70s & low humidity. My granddaughter and I took a number of historical tours--plantation tour & swamp tour (Gray Line), paddlewheel on the Mississippi, cemetery tour, World War II Museum--and would recommend them all! Enjoyed riding the streetcars, even though we found the routes a little confusing; locals were friendly and helped us out!

I really enjoyed my stay in New Orleans.

I really enjoyed my stay in New Orleans. I went on the Green Team bus and was able to see many different places around the city. I visited the French Quarter, where I tried a variety of foods and listened to beautiful live music everywhere I went. I even went to a club and experienced the city’s vibrant nightlife. One of the most memorable moments was seeing children beating buckets with sticks. The rhythm and music were so beautiful and full of life. To end the experience on a relaxing note, I treated myself to a foot massage. New Orleans is a great place to visit, with so much culture, music, and energy, and it is a city I truly enjoyed exploring.
