Overall I really liked our stay at Indigo Hotel. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The location of the hotel was perfect for us. It is in easy walking distance to some attractions (like Brooklyn Bridge, Battery Park, One World Trade Center) and has several subway stops nearby. I especially want to thank the staff. They were always very friendly and helpful when we had any questions.

I have been in NYC (Manhattan) about 15 times since my first trip in 1983. The city has changed quite a lot in this +40 years period. I have the feeling it is ever more expensive each time I am there. In particular, keep in mind you are requeste to tip not only the waiters but also the taxis (at an outrageous rate of 20% or more). Yet I like it a lot and, for my daughter who was there for the first time, it was a magic place. She would be delighted to study at Colombia or at NY University.

New York in January is cold, but if you pack warm it is a lot of fun. (: still crowded and busy, but it seemed less so than it might have been. My one complaint is just that it felt like the whole city smelled like weed 🤢but a lot of big cities have gross smells like that so it is what it is. We went to the crown of the Statue of Liberty (book way in advance for crown tickets), we went to the Empire State Building, we walked time square, saw multiple broadway shows (all excellent!) and traveled using the subway. Our hotel was walking distance from time square so we were close to broadway, places to eat, and shopping locations.

Terrible passport queues at - JFK airport 3 hours long.

Terrible passport queues at - JFK airport 3 hours long. It is clear that overseas visitors are not wanted here as this is insulting and exhausting after a typical flight time of 7 hours from the UK. And everyone in NY accepts that this is "normal". No it isn't- "it is absolutely shockingly bad". I just wanted to get back on a plane and get out if there.

New York didn’t just welcome me, it challenged me, amazed me...

New York didn’t just welcome me, it challenged me, amazed me, and straight-up stole my heart. In just six days, I lived a full movie. From the neon madness of Times Square to the calm poetry of Central Park, every corner had its own mood. Standing on the Empire State Building and watching the New York skyline felt like shaking hands with history. Walking across the Brooklyn Bridge, then reaching DUMBO for that legendary Manhattan Bridge view, unreal. No filter needed. The Statue of Liberty 1-hour ferry trip was powerful and peaceful, and the free Staten Island Ferry gave me skyline views I’ll never forget. Visiting One World Trade Center and the 9/11 Memorial was emotional — quiet, respectful, and deeply meaningful. I loved exploring Chinatown with its food, colors, and nonstop energy. Riding the New York subway and even taking NJ Transit trains made me feel like a real local. Stepping into New Jersey and Long Island added extra flavor to the journey, not just NYC, but the whole vibe around it. This wasn’t just sightseeing. This was living the city. New York is loud, fast, historic, emotional, and beautiful, all at once. Not perfect (next time I’m doing museums 😉), but for a first trip?

New York was an amazing experience!

New York was an amazing experience! Despite a little rain, the city was vibrant and full of life - it's Christmas season, so everything felt festive and lively. Even though we arrived late for our reservation at The Edge Priceless Restaurant and Summit One Vanderbilt, the staff was incredibly accommodating, which made our visit even more enjoyable. Overall, it was a memorable trip!

What can i say? The city that never sleeps is really true!

What can i say? The city that never sleeps is really true!I came in New York 30 years ago and coming back has been wonderful. New York gives everyone the possibility to live and experience the true American Dream! Getting around is very easy because of the extension pf the subway that covers all the city not only Manhattan, in fact i’va benn in Brooklyn and Queens too. I’va been in New Jersey also using the NJ transit bus. I eat usually in fast food to have more time to viait the city.

The location is fantastic in Midtown Manhattan. Just a short walk to Bryant Park, Grand Central Station, Times Square, etc. Shops, restaurants and subway stations are just a few minutes walk. The area is very safe. The room was clean and spacious (I traveled with my spouse and two teen kids - 15 and 13 years old). The breakfast was great. We also went on two free walking tours offered by the Iroquois hotel and those were very informative and well delivered.

Nice stylish hotel in good central location, the grab and go breakfast worked well and the lounge/study area downstairs was nice. The room was comfortable and clean, and quite large. The staff were nice. It was the most reasonable hotel we could find in new york that met our needs but didn’t feel cheap at all. A proper crib for our baby too. Location is very useful for getting to all the best bits of manhattan, either walking, subway or cabs

The hotel was in a great location, with a quick walk to the F train which goes to key attractions like Times Square, Rockefeller Center, and Central Park. There were convenient shopping locations nearby for water and other essentials. The price was great for Manhattan. I enjoyed the uniqueness of Chinatown vs other more central, tourist locations. The room was pretty quiet. Staff was friendly and facilities were pretty clean.
