I liked the location as it is close to a train station; few minutes walk away to times square, flat iron, the vessel. Breakfast buffet included. Everyday room cleaning. Elevator broken and we were staying on the 10th floor; they acted promptly to fix the issue.

Very quiet room. I don't know if all rooms are that quiet, but we had requested a room away from stairwells, elevators and ice machines, and they accommodated us. It was lovely quiet.

There's only one New York. It was noisy and crowded -- walking in the main avenues was difficult -- but there;s a reason for this endless surge of humanity, namely endless things to see or do there. And now with the High Line and the Hudson River walkway,it's a better city for walkers than ever.

New York is a great city with a rich history.
New York is a great city with a rich history. The prices can bite a little, and people are always rushing — it’s a very busy place. Still, there are so many amazing things to see, like the Statue of Liberty, Madame Tussauds Museum, Times Square, and Central Park.

I've been visiting NYC since the 1970's and up until the last decade, it was all pretty familiar and easy to navigate. Now one is easily confused and inconvenienced if one does not live in a smart phone world. It was also not a "given" that there would be a real live person at transportation sites and the ticket machines (if one did not have contactless devices) were sometimes hard to locate (Long Island RR -Air Train stop) or unaccommodating. The Metropolitan Museum of Art, always an elegant, comfortable place is not so much anymore. No coatrooms, bare-bones bookstore, and no docent-led tours of the special exhibits. Crowds are taking cell-phone photos of every painting and label and one feels "in the way" of this mindless activity. For elegance and contemplative space, go to the Frick.

New York City is, without question, one of the most vibrant and unforgettable cities in the world. Every corner of this city pulses with life, energy, and a sense of possibility that’s hard to describe until you experience it for yourself.
Whether you’re wandering through the iconic streets of Manhattan, taking in the skyline from Brooklyn, or discovering hidden gems in neighborhoods like Harlem, SoHo, or the West Village — there’s something magical around every corner. The city blends history and innovation in a way that makes every walk feel like a scene from a movie.
The diversity of people, languages, cultures, and cuisines is breathtaking. You can start your morning with a bagel and coffee in a quiet corner café, spend your afternoon exploring world-class museums or lush parks like Central Park, and end your evening with a Broadway show or a late-night slice of New York-style pizza — and it all feels effortless.
What truly makes New York stand out is its people. There’s a unique mix of toughness and kindness here; locals might be in a rush, but they’ll stop to help you if you need directions. There’s an authenticity in the air — a confidence and drive that’s contagious.
It’s a city that challenges and inspires you, that overwhelms and delights you, and that stays with you long after you’ve left. Whether it’s your first visit or your tenth, New York City always has something new to show you.
If you’ve never been — go. And if you have — you already know why people say there’s no place like it.

Summit One Vonderbuils is the best starting point. I also recommend the cruises around the Hudson River.
The Empire State Building continues to be an icon, and in my opinion, is better than the Rock.

Really great if you plan you are able to do quite a lot in day as Manhattan is really easy to get around.
Taxis are not like the UK they need to know exactly where you are going and best to prebook taxi transfers from the airport both ways.

The Wallace is in an excellent location just off Broadway. We walked to the MET through Central Park and used the nearby subway station to access the 1 and 2 lines that go through the theatre district and all way down to the bottom of Manhattan. There is no restaurant in the hotel, but several breakfast and dinner places only meters away. Two of New York’s best food shops are also just around the corner. The hotel is friendly but low key, with new, good sized and very comfortable rooms. I will be recommending it to friends and family.
The location; the hotel was at the heart of midtown manhattan, 28TH ST station was around the corner but penn station and Times Square were a short walk.
The view; Even though my room was on the 23rd floor, i still had a great view of downtown, and i could even see the statue of liberty.
Breakfast was a typical american breakfast with a lot of bagels and although it was christmas and not a lot of space, i didn't have to wait long for a table.
Excellent central location in Times Square with a nice pool area to take a break out of the busy city below. Staff were all great - very welcoming, always with a smile and a hello anytime we came back to the hotel after a day of adventures. The margarita’s are the best we had in NYC & they have good happy hour deals. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Excellent apartment and the location is very good. Quiet but close to subway station, grocery store, restaurants, etc. Short ride with the subway to Manhattan, Times Square and other points of interest. The apartment was very clean and the hosts are great, always ready to assist if needed. Will surely stay again if I go back to New York.
