Norfolk holds a special place in my heart.

Norfolk holds a special place in my heart. I met my husband working in a hotdog shop in Norfolk. We lived and got married on the beach there. Walking the beaches, seeing the dolphins swim, walking on frozen sand. Such great memories. Carla Beach House is a must when we get to visit and the cruises are a wonderful experience.

Had so much fun. It was nice just to relax and unwind. The view was so breathtaking and comfortable. I really look forward to going back. The only downside was our first room the toilet clogged and the shower wasn't draining properly, but we got into a different room with no problem at all. Everyone was do nice and accommodating. I enjoyed the beach area, the water was Devine and we were actually able to go out about 50ft and still be waist to chest deep. The Ocean View peer was awesome. Caught several different kind of fish. Saw beautiful dolphins early in the morning. And had a constant cooling breeze. Highly recommend going for relaxing.

Driving to/from Norfolk can be a challenge.

Driving to/from Norfolk can be a challenge. It was more fun coming from the Eastern Shore than driving out on the mainland. The bridge/tunnel experience was amazing- what an engineering feat! We were in Norfolk for just an overnight, attending an art opening at D'Arts- great resource.

Norfolk has a lot to offer both historically and culturally. The people are friendly and inviting. There is a large selection of places to eat from Vegan to Asian to Indian etc. The waterfront is a great place to spend some time

We aren't city people, so the amount of construction and...

We aren't city people, so the amount of construction and people was a bit overwhelming for us. Some of the major roadways were HUGE and traffic ran fast and the locals were kind of unforgiving if you didn't know which lane to be in. Lots of flooding during heavy rains as it is only like 4 feet above sea level. We were in town to see the USS Wisconsin, as my father served on her in the 50s. The ship was amazing and quite a sight to behold. Aside from that, we didn't really bother with the rest of the city.

Spark Hotel by Hilton was perfect for my 2 nights in Norfolk for business. Spark is CLEAN, Comfortable, 24-hour coffee & tea available in the lobby, bagels & cream cheese, yogurt, and orange juice (cereal & oatmeal too) make a great quick breakfast before heading out for my day. All personnel were friendly and helpful. The beach is just a quick drive 1 mile down the road! I highly recommend Spark!

Breakfast is ok, has all you need, for a start into the day, expect nothing big.

Clean room, comfortable bed, lots of amenities and superb breakfast. And all these within a great price range. However, what I liked best was the working personnel. We had an issue because we booked two rooms by accident, and even though we made a non refundable reservation, they still refunded the full price for one of the rooms that we didn't need.
