We used to live in Savannah and I would move back.
We used to live in Savannah and I would move back. There is so much history, one trip won't cover it all. The food is divine along with the hospitality. Savannah History and Haunts Candlelit Ghost Walking Tour gives you some history and a tour of the city, it's a nice walk after traveling too, great way to start your trip. Crystal Beer Parlor, Six Pence Pub, Green Truck Pub have some awesome gourmet pub food. See the Basilica, the view from the top of the Peregrine (along with music if you're lucky), the Bonaventure Cemetery, Skidaway Island State Park, Leopold's Ice Cream, watch the ships go by on River Street as you have lunch and grab some peanut brittle at the candy shop. Outside the city drive through Savannah National Wildlife Refuge to see amazing birds and maybe an alligator. Amazing history, architecture, and food. I hope you enjoy your visit. Keep the faith, Cindy

Savannah is a lovely city filled with history.
Savannah is a lovely city filled with history. I recommend the trolley tour as it is informative and gives you an idea where you would like to hop off and explore the area. The riverfront, ghost tour, Bonaventure Cemetery, St John the Baptist Cathedral and Forsyth Park were my favorite sites. Leopold’s was great for ice-cream. Vinnie Van Go Go’s had good pizza. Spanky’s and the Shrimp Factory on the river front were good too.

Beautiful city with plenty of history.
Beautiful city with plenty of history. There are too many historical houses to do in one trip! We went in Spring and the weather was great. I think it might be too hot in Summer, though. The Hop-On-Hop-Off Trolley was great. Just be sure to leave extra time: when it was full we had to wait for several to get on. Bonaventure golf cart tour is a must. Ghosts and Gravestones bus tour was fun. River Street has lots of shops and restaurants, however many close early. Be sure to buy tickets and make dinner reservations ahead of time. Things sell out fast and you need to plan ahead.

Our purpose in visiting was to view the history of African contributions to America and the treatment of the enslaved. We were Greatly disappointed with the lack of acknowledgement to their overt building of Savannah. Without the Freemen and Enslaved, Savannah would not be what it is today. It was a shame that those contributions were left out of the Cities history, but those who succeeded from their nation were honored. What a shame! Learning the true history of the Squares really left a bad taste and feeling for the city.

The location of hotel was wonderful. I loved that you could take the back elevators and be on River Street! The hotel was close to all the restaurants we ate at. We also enjoyed eating at the hotel restaurant one night. It was fabulous! I loved the lobby and the view from the lobby.
Staff were kind and helpful, and check in was easy. Room was clean. Breakfast was a bonus. More affordable option than staying in downtown Savannah if you have a car. Felt safe and comfortable.
Excellent hotel, modern, cosy, clean, great location in historic centre, all attractions nearby. Staff friendly. If visit Savannah, this hotel is right choice.
