Nicknamed the Emerald City due to its lush greenery, Seattle is best known for its great waterfront, fantastic skyline and infamous rainy weather. In reality though, the city gets less rain a year than New York or Atlanta!

I was genuinely surprised by Seattle—it felt alive and cared for. I saw crews keeping the streets spotless and volunteers down by the waterfront setting up games, creating a lively, welcoming space. Beautiful, very diverse city with a lot of beautiful sights and lots of things to do and see, but a little on the expensive side. We loved the waterfront and the Pike place markets. Lots to do -- Seattle Aquarium; Pike's Market with probably 100+ vendor stalls; lots of flowers; Seattle Space Needle; Chulily Glass Museum; lots of eating places at all price points.
