We enjoyed all of the Route 66 history and would have loved to explore more of that area. We tried to find the highly recommended Gathering Place but it was late at night so the search was minimal. There's many dining options that would be great to try.

My family is from OK and a lot of them still live in OK, so...
My family is from OK and a lot of them still live in OK, so I love it, but what a lot of people don't know is the history of Tulsa like what happened to Black Wallstreet, do you research if not, (sad:( but true). Number 4. is a prime example, "BLACK WALLSTREET" isn't even listed as one of the attractions as one of the popular places!

Dig in before you go, and plan some stops to see a lot on Route66 to see and go to the Center of Universe downtown. Want to go back to try some hometown eats, they were closed for Labor Day weekend. Go to Tally's a true icon of Route 66 and the food is great. The Gathering Place is something great to take families to and it is free.

We went to The Gathering Place, and it was awesome!
We went to The Gathering Place, and it was awesome! We spent about 3 hours there but could've stayed much longer to look at everything. We went to the Zoo, and it was nice. It got hot out quick, but luckily we could take in our ice chests for cool drinks and snacks. After the zoo we went to Scheels and spent a few hours in there. They have an indoor ferris wheel that only cost $1 per person, per ride!

Tulsa is a fantastic hidden gym!
Tulsa is a fantastic hidden gym! Even within Oklahoma itself it's considered the "little brother"
But it is definitely worth a trip or a few!!!
Beautiful museums, a fantastic minor league ballpark experience, great old art deco neighborhoods. A fascinating neighborhood that deals with a significant civil rights event.
Also some really underrated restaurants.

Tulsa has a lot to offer.
Tulsa has a lot to offer. Great shopping, great things to see and do. It is a wonderful place to spend a weekend. I probably wouldn't do a full week, but there is plenty to keep you busy. Don't skip the zoo nor the Botanic Gardens. Beautiful. We ate at a diner on Route 66 and we were there doing a parade with old cars. Tulsa offers a great selection of restaurants, both chain and non-chain with great food easily found.

I'm assuming it was the owner, but he went out of his to assure me that was a safe place and quiet place. He even a tour before a purchased. I would definitely stay again visiting the Tulsa area.

Location on the route 66, not far from the center of the city. The staff super helfull. The hotel is from 1927, well maintained, and was an excellent example of how was the life 100 years ago.

Hotel was clean and rooms were good size. We were able to fit a pack n' play travel crib in between the beds. Nice large bathrooms as well. Breakfast was good for kids.
