Perfect location in the south shore poipu area. The specific room’s access to the front office and the amenities across the street was great.

Extremely easy. Knowing where to go/where my suite was tricky for about 30 seconds, and otherwise very smooth. An unexpected surprise was the quality of the BnB portion of our stay -- every morning by 8AM there was a unique, locally-sourced breakfast and fresh coffee waiting for us right next to our bedroom. Property was gorgeous and within walking distance to poipu beach.
What else... Doing a load of laundry was easy, and Pete was very hands-off/friendly.

Such a beautiful property! As someone who does not like resorts, this is perfect! Separate cottages which makes you feel as if you have your own. Beautiful grounds!

I recommend staying at the cabins if 1) you want a bit of an adventure, 2) you want to be closer to the Waimea Canyon & Kalalau Valley lookouts, and 3) you don't mind being a bit rustic. After I had already spent 6 nights in Poipu, I spent 3 nights at these cabins to try something different. The cabins were way cleaner than I thought they would be, and I didn't have any issues at all with bugs. Be forewarned that there is no cell/internet service available at the cabins, they are heated by a wood buring stove (you can buy wood/newspaper/firestarters/matches from the office for about $22), and being in one of the duplexes means there will be another party in the other part of the cabin with very little soundproofing -- but I had a great time even with all that. I knew I could drive down the mountain about a mile and get cell/internet service if needed (or the Koke'e Lodge has wi-fi when it's open too), I figured out how to start a fire which was fun, and the people on the other side of the duplex stopped talking at 10:00 PM (when quiet hours began). So you can enjoy a very comfortable, clean, quiet, yet rustic time at these cabins if you'd like! FYI that the Koke'e Lodge is actually really awesome (it was like a hip coffee shop with great food), and I loved being close to the Kalalau Valley lookout to be able to see it first thing in the AM before the clouds rolled in. I was confused during research, so just FYI that it's free to go up and down this road -- you only pay if you want to stop at 1-4 of the 4 official state park lookouts -- you'll pay $10/car and $5/person in the car (so $15 for one person) and that allows you to stop at all of the lookouts for the rest of the day.
This beach resort has self-catering rooms, a spa and an outdoor pool with ocean views. It offers laundry facilities. Kiahuna Golf Club is a 5-minute drive away.

Stunning view, beautifully groomed grass and gardens.
Don't bother, so many more options available. If you want to see some original cottages, just drive by. Many locals stay there for parties with lots of people in one cottage - they receive nice discounts but do like to stay up late! I would not go to Hawaii to swim in a pool but saw many people use theirs. The beach was poor so no one was on it since you cannot swim. They could have supplied bikes - that would have been a bonus. The distance to everything except Waimea Canyon is far but if you are planning on hiking the canyon daily it is your second best option (the first being cabins 1/2 way up the mountain). You need a car since there is only one restaurant near by and the kitchen facilities are poor.
Hiking was great - would have been nice to stay where we could rent a paddle board or surfboards / boogie boards. Def. take a helicopter ride and see the Napili Coast line from the water!

We booked the Waimea Inn for what we thought was the week of the Waimea Town Festival. Unfortunately, the dates were changed to the next week. Without the festival, the town has nothing to offer visitors. The beach is not swimmable and there are few shops or sites of interest in the town. Most of the restaurants close at 3:00pm so finding somewhere to eat for dinner is mostly impossible. We found ourselves buying groceries and using the Inn common microwave. I would never have booked a room in Waimea (and especially not the Waimea Inn) if I had known in advance how little Waimea has to offer.

Its far from restaurants, and swell is large, and due to canyon water is not snokleabble. But its enjoyable for swimmimg, surfing, walking, beach picnic, and its a good place for exploring Waimea canyon by hiking. Most trailheads are within short distance. Virtually no traffic

Waimea is great for more adventurous travellers focusing on activities like hiking, ocean activities and being beachside. Waimea area has some great camping places on and off the grid. I recommend Waimea as there are so many beaches, and I loved hiking the canyon. You also have great vista views of Napali ridges and the coastline below. Kuaui is small. enough you can get all the way to Hanalei in a little over an hour. Note that there is no way to drive ll the way around the island because of the Napali coast.

This was our second visit.
This was our second visit. We returned to take our family hiking in Polihale State Park and Koke'e State Park. However, a recent storm prevented us from hiking at all. So be prepared to find something else to do. The towns nearby are very small. SO if you like quaint and uncrowded, this is your spot.
Charming collection of old cottages on site fronting a quiet beach. The cottages are all slightly different, but well equipped, comfortable and clean. It is charming and understated . The details on the Booking.com site really undersell the property. There are beautiful sunsets and the grounds are lovely to walk in. The property does have an independently run restaurant and bar on site. Close to the Waimea Canyon, so you can get a morning head start on other visitors.
The property is a traditional cottage on a large estate with a lot of open space and beautiful trees. The cottages are well spaced out and have verandahs with, in our case, a lovely view of the ocean. The accommodation is comfortable but unpretentious and the location of the estate is excellent for excursions to the Waimea Canyon and the Na Pali coast. There were fruitful mango trees on site. The staff were courteous and helpful.
Beautifully manicured and maintained grounds. Quiet and tranquil environment. Good WiFi. Mini-split air con units were quiet and efficient. Ceiling fans were helpful. Good to have insect screens on all windows and doors. Efficient check-in. Great on-site food. Outdoor lighting kept low to the ground so insects and nightlife could thrive. We loved being right next to the town of Waimea within easy reach of the canyon and park.
It’s a cabin in a remote area and not a 5 star hotel. Can’t confirm the complaints of the other people. Showers were outdated but clean and phenomenal water pressure. There were a lot of blankets and the kitchen was fully stocked (no oil). No mobile coverage, 30min way to reception desk and fire wood are clearly communicated at every stage of the booking process.
The location is good particularly because of the heavy traffic on the south and east sides of Kauai. Best of all was the staff who were exceptionally friendly, helpful and kind. The lack of a pool or hot tub on the property was a disappointment but we knew that before arriving. Many, many thanks to the staff especially Shannon, Pappy and Nicole.
Less busy side of Kauai, great food options within walking distance, cheap room pricing for Kauai, rooms are spacious and nice, rooms use a code so no key card is needed and you can't get locked out, overlooks a beautiful back yard with the ocean just in sight, friendly and understanding staff, we were the only people in the hotel for like 3 days.
I was staying in the Bananaroom, which was huge! As it has an overall-rating of 7.5, I wasn’t expecting much, but fortunately got surprised in a very good way! the two rooms were clean, very comfortable und nicely decorated. I enjoyed my stay very much and the location is perfect - especially for visiting Waimea Canyon and Koke’e park!
Lunch at Lodge was good. Rose and Carol are great at office in Waimea. Lookouts are very cool and hiking trails in the area are special. The cabin we had, Halla, is a good duplex for a group that all gets along as it is one big room, but it would be wonderful if it had a toaster instead of a rice cooker. I want to return soon!
Being a field biologist, I liked the rustic simplicity of my cabin in Kokee State Park. It was perfectly located for me to go birdwatching, hiking, and sunset watching. I can see how lodging in the Cabins of Kokee is not for everyone. I, however, enjoyed a break from technology and enjoyed the peace and quiet of nature.
Nice historic inn next to the beach. Our bamboo room had a spacious living area and had ocean view. They also provide you with all the necessities for a beach visit. Location was good, next to the road up to waimea canyon. Would definitely recommend this place for a night or two.
Quiet and beautiful location, amazing vegetation (fruit trees) and close to the coastline, cute cottage with all amenities (also for cooking), private parking in front of the cottage, good location for hikes in the Waimea Canyon.
Very friendly staff, the room was clean and had a small kitchen. Very conveniently located for hiking in Waimea Canyon State Park while also being nearby shops and restaurants.
Bed was comfortable and the large shower room was excellent. Water was cold and hot when we needed it. Location was perfect for Waimea canyon and West Kaua'i in general.
Very good base to explore the park and the Waimea canyon!!
We loved also the internet-vacation and sleeping in the middle of the forest with the crackling fireplace!!
