A bit expensive. For shopping, visit Farkhod Market.
A bit expensive. For shopping, visit Farkhod Market. Flavoured tea is only available at Chorsu bazar. The overall experience was good. Twin bed room in hotels are expensive, but if you stay at hostels then it's cheap and you get to meet with new people. The views are good and it's very developed as compared to bukhara and lots of greenery. Magic city was a waste of time, not suitable for adults but an excellent destination for kids.

We didn't have enough time to go out and explore Tashkent, which is a shame! Because the evening we left there was a soccer game in which the Uzbekistan national team qualified for the World Cup!
Next time we will make a special visit to Tashkent so that we have enough time to walk around and enjoy all the places in the city!

Of course everyone wants to move on to Samarkand and Bukhara, but spending time in Tashkent helps one to understand the culture and history of the area. The museums are interesting and walking around the city is enjoyable. Watching and meeting locals, trying the food, riding the metro - all things you can do in Tashkent before you take the wonderful Afrosiyob train to other parts of Uzbekistan.

A real Turkish state. Definitely must be seen. Chorsu, the baazar, really is authentic. I also recommend visiting Opera house. Do not return home without tasting Ozbek Plov !! Kozmonovtlar is the most interesting metro station !

"Tashkent – A Hidden Gem of Central Asia!"
"Tashkent – A Hidden Gem of Central Asia!"
We absolutely like Tashkent – a perfect blend of Soviet grandeur, Silk Road history, and modern Uzbek charm. Here’s why it stole our hearts:
✅ Green & Spacious – Unexpectedly leafy with fountains and parks everywhere (Navoi Park is magical at sunset!)
✅ Architectural Wonders – From the dazzling Khast Imam complex to space-age Metro stations (don’t miss Kosmonavtlar station!)
✅ Food Paradise – Chorsu Bazaar’s honey stalls, fresh tandoor bread, and the world’s most flavorful plov at Central Asian Plov Centre
✅ Perfectly Walkable – Wide sidewalks, pedestrian-friendly Broadway Street, and cheap Yandex taxis for longer trips
The city feels safe, spotlessly clean.

Tashkent is a very interesting, clean, well-planned city, with lots of pleasant green spaces and many fountains. The modern architecture is innovative and the high-rise buildings are not oppressive because they are spaced out, with wide roads and green spaces in between. This does mean, however, that walking distances between different places are quite long - further than it would seem from a map!

Unbeatable Korean hospitality can be felt throughout my stay. It has an Grand Dame feel to this refurbished hotel, with attention and efforts in many details. The breakfast is especially outstanding from an Asian perspective. I get a decent takeaway box at 4 and 5am on two mornings as I have to get ready for early day trips. There is a "Hall of Fame" showing the celebrities who have stayed in the hotel and you know it is really among the best in the city. The pool is a lovely retreat considering Tashkent's scortching summer days.
The room was beautiful and very comfortable, and the hotel was in a great location for exploring Tashkent on foot. The pool was great, very clean with lots of comfortable seating options and drinks and snacks available. Staff were so helpful throughout the stay (this was my first stop in Uzbekistan so I was still finding my feet) and gave great information, arranged cars for onward journey etc. Would definitely recommend for anyone visiting Tashkent!
We stayed here for 3 nights after a 10 dash across Uzbekistan and had a very nice relaxing break from travel. Our room was big and clean, the breakfast was good and the outdoor terrace area was a lovely place to relax in a cool breeze.
The best part of our stay we're the young men who ran the hotel: they were very helpful and attentive and one of them spoke good English. They arranged some laundry for us, and generally looked after us.
Very comfortable and cozy modern hotel.
I definitely recommend.
Location is not a problem since taxis are very cheap in Tashkent. There is also a metro stop nearby.
