The room was very clean and looked the same as the pictures. It’s simple but good value when compared with other places in a similar price range. Perfect if you don’t want to spend too much but still want to stay somewhere comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. We rented a motorbike from the hotel and they organized a taxi to pick us up from the airport and the prices for both were fair.

The staff was amazing and made my stay so so lovely! I arrived very early and they upgraded my room for free to accommodate me showing up at 8 am. I needed to move the next day but I went out for the day and they moved everything for me. They helped organize a scooter, and airport transportation very early in the morning. They even woke up at 4:30 am to make sure I was up to catch my flight. Such lovely people. You need to stay here if you visit Con Doa.

    A lovely hotel in Con Son. We had a corner suite, which was very nice. The hotel is a couple of minutes walk from the beach. The owner speaks good English. We were able to rent a motorbike from her, which is a must for exploring the island. We would definitely come back here.

    4-5 days on Con Dao is enough time to enjoy walking trails in the rainforest and check out the beaches as well as enjoy the sunset and a boat trip to one of the smaller islands - also some great restaurants in town - Madame Ha - gets my vote as best restaurant 2025 . I have stayed here for 2 weeks in the past during the month of November - fantastic weather - if windy or rainy perhaps 3-4 days . I would NOT go all the way over there - by ferry / plane for only 2 days

    Had Con Dao on my bucket list and was not disappointed.

    Had Con Dao on my bucket list and was not disappointed. In fact it would be one of my favourite places to visit in Vietnam. It is a compact island with some of the best engineered roads you will find, serving tourists and a small local population around 10 000 people, making riding a hired scooter a safe and efficient way to travel. A large area is designated National Park, embracing both land and sea reserves. Large tract of bush and special reserves where you can see turtles and dudongs, in season. Despite its dark history the people are generally very relaxed and friendly. There are good options for casual dining and the night market specialises in fresh seafood. Visits to the museum, the colonial governors' residence and the French and American prisons are recommended. There are wonderful trails to hike ; be safe wear good footwear, take water and snacks and beware of optimistic distance signage ; it may be further than you think !

    Con Dao is the perfect escape if you don't want crowds or tourist built up areas. If you don't want a beach holiday or relaxing slow paced life, don't go here. Perfect for kids, lots of beaches and sand and wildlife for then to see and great boat trips

    I’m torn between reporting how beautiful this place is and a desire to see it not overrun with people 😬 The history here is so sad & tragic and yet in the last 50 years it has transformed to a most amazing retreat.

    The location was so gorgeous and even better than we expected with the location being right at the beach. Soft sand and coconut trees framing the Chrystal clear water and beautiful warm sea. The staff were amazing and so attentive,drinks and food were good and free breakfast too. We were able to hire a motorbike directly at reception and it was cheap and reliable and the room was just what we needed with a fridge and good A/C as it was hot weather. Only down side was the the bathroom may have needed the tap fixing and the shower bracket fixing so a wee upgrade may help and we needed cups and spoons for making coffee so it would have been nice to have some cutlery,cups,plates and water glasses. Would definitely recommend it as it felt really authentic and great location. The local night market was interesting for food and some great places close by. Such a beautiful island and super clean beaches with not alot of tourism which made it feel authentic and the scuba diving was beautiful with lots of gorgeous hard coral

    Windy season is seriously windy - between December and March. Amazing mountains but hiking is not well established and they try to keep tourists to a couple of specific spots. I think some mountains are off limits due to military but with some modern and professional tourism development, the potential to unlock these impressive mountains and forests is amazing. I loved being on the island and was hit hard by what I saw in the museum and historical prisons. Definitely worth checking out. I would have to say that the beaches are average and if you're an explorer looking for isolated little bays etc., you'll find some beautiful places decorated with all sorts of plastic ranging in colour and age. When i go there again - which I will in better weather - I will get out on the water and find places to go diving and island hopping. A really nice place with lots of "potential" if developed properly. I'll be back as there is plenty to explore...

    We really liked and enjoyed staying in Orson Hotel! The staff is just amazing and so-so helpful! Hotel overall is pretty and room was cozy. Room were very clean and bed comfortable. Hotel is located bit out of town but it’s really easy to get around with the scooters which they are offering on the place for good price. Breakfast was one of the best we had in Vietnam so far, many varieties of food! We liked the pool as well although it would be nice to have more sun beds with umbrella. Totally recommend this place!

    Outstanding confort ! amazing people with large smile and so helpful... We stayed 1 week on Con Dao, at Kim's Garden, if we would stayed 2 weeks if we could! Kim was so kind with us, she helped us gratefully whenever we needed some advice to hike on the island! We were so lucky to have a meal with her and family... her grand mother is a very good chef ! <3 Outside of the town, we really appreciated the quiet place.     Very nice and helpful staff, best beds we had in VN. Good location close to the Beach, Recommodation room with balcony and Seaview, very good Vietnamese breakfast. Wifi mostly good working, we got a new scooter for rent, the pool on the roof small but clean.
