I will tell anyone coming to Sri Lanka - stay with Ravi at Margosa Mountain Villa. Best stay on our trip and top 5 lifetime. Stunning setting. Perfect room. Delicious food -organic rice, fruit, fish etc. right from the property, expertly cooked by Ravi’s wife Sewwandi. Pool is sublime. Birds galore (and easy to find and ID with Ravi’s help). Booked for two days. Stayed for 4. Great spot for excursions Dambulla, Sigiriya, and beyond, but we were happy just to relax and meditate on our good fortune to be there. Ravi spent 23 years as tour guide and it shows both in his care and expertise. I know this review sounds like a plug from one of his friends but I promise that 5 days ago we’d never met. But, yes, we have definitely made a new friend. Stay as long as you can.

We recently stayed at Samadhi Lagoon Villa for 3 days, and it was a truly peaceful and memorable experience for our family. The villa is beautifully situated, offering breathtaking lagoon views that create the perfect atmosphere for relaxation. The rooms were clean, spacious, and tastefully designed, combining both comfort and elegance. The staff were warm, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile, which made us feel genuinely welcome. The food was fresh and delicious, with a delightful variety of local dishes. We also enjoyed a wonderful kayak boat ride on the lagoon, which added to the charm of the serene environment. Waking up to the sounds of nature and watching the sunset over the lagoon was truly magical, providing an ideal setting for meditation.

So glad we decided to stop here for one night on our way to Tangalle from Ella. This was a phenomenal stay. The room was clean and thoughtfully decorated. The outdoor shower was great and the homemade soap and shampoo were a nice touch. The best part of this place is the family that took care of us with kindness. Highly recommend the cooking class. Everything was made from scratch and grown from the garden.

Everything was great, an amazing location in the middle of the forest, with a lovely village nearby. The host was wonderful, and all the staff were super friendly. I definitely recommend this place.

Best stay during the whole trip! Amazing property and staff, cutest dogs and close to everything yet quiet. Also had to do some remote Teams meetings and the WiFi worked perfectly. Very charming and authentic vibe.

Everything was outstanding! From the moment we arrived, Leel's mother welcomed us and showed us the rooms. They are big and spacious, the bathrooms well maintained. The AC works well. Leel is really kind and helpful. He has made the surroundings a heaven of peace. We highly recommend staying there (especially if you plan on a safari for the next morning as Leel as the jeep and a very kind driver).

One of the best places I've stayed in. Beautiful house with a beautiful garden. The family that runs the place was extremely nice. The place is very quiet and serunded by jungle, but it is very close to the beach. Took me 3 minutes to walk with my surfboard to south-beach. I recommend it very much.

This place is super special. Tucked away in a family home. The room and facilities were of a very high standard, clean and most satisfying. The owners were really accommodating. They really could not have done anymore. They checked in on me everyday, whilst allowing me to enjoy my alone time. The breakfast was above and beyond. It felt like I was eating at a palace. They served me western and Sri Lankan food, encouraging me to try new variations. The owners themselves are just wonderful people, who will stay in my heart forever. Thank you for such a lovely stay.

It was exceptional, my daughter and I were alone in the hotel and on the property, which is a one-time experience. We enjoyed the team, the owner, the spice garden tour with explanations, the superb pool and grounds, the frogs at night and birds and monitors by day, the unavoidable ants, and the fresh fruit & veggies. It is the perfect stay upon arrival or before departure, since it is not far from the international airport in Colombo. It is cozy, with much comfort, good service, and the 9 rooms spread into 6 pavilions make it seem very intimate. There is an ayurvedic treatment spa, and it is perfect to recharge, work remotely (which I did while overseeing my 7 y.o. in the pool), and laze around. Book 2 nights minimum for improved appreciation before heading to your Sri Lankan discovery tour & adventures!

Simply stunningly beautiful hotel set in acres of farm land. Such a fabulous place to relax and unwind. Loved the farm tour, so interesting, and the pool was wonderful. Delicious food and incredible staff!
