Close enough to explore old town without having to do down the crazy narrow streets. Also lots of restaurants and the big town square right there. Very walkable.

I absolutely loved having housekeeping daily to tidy up the apartment. It made a significant difference. I also had a washer to do laundry and they replenished the items I had used. It was wonderful!

A Splash of Color and History in the Heart of Catalonia
The colorful and charming gem that is Girona is on the banks of where the Ter, Onyar, Galligants and Güell rivers meet. Girona is protected by fortifications and features a remarkable medieval center along with several fine Romanesque and Gothic buildings.
The province houses the ancient Arab Baths, the Girona Cathedral, and the lovely Girona Art Museum. Due to its mountainous terrain, Girona is also a popular destination for cycling enthusiasts, and theater lovers can enjoy a performance at the Auditorium Jardins del Castell.
Girona has a lively nightlife and offers a wide variety of bars, restaurants and cafés serving anything from local Basque and Catalan delicacies to traditional tapas and an array of international cuisines.
Other popular landmarks to see are the 14th-century Sant Feliu, the historical fortifications, the 11th-century Monastery of San Daniel, and the characteristic Girona Bridge.
Girona Train station offers direct connections to bustling Barcelona and the picturesque town of Portbou. Booking.com offers a wide range of accommodation options and deals in Girona and around Catalonia.

Great town with a lot of history, great restaurants, nature around is beautiful. Sporty town supporting amateur and pro athletes best way. Friendly people and plenty great coffee places. Best routes for riding your bike road and off road. The many beautiful little towns in the region are a must visit too. Dont forget to visit the walls of the town ending in the impressive cathedral!

A chronological historical field trip from the Romans to the Spanish Civil War within the town. Superb walkable city walls, the cathedral and other ecclesiastical buildings to explore. The Old Town, Jewish Quarter, range of museums, authentic restaurants , amazing bakeries, a thriving Craft Beer scene such as Beer and Bagels, covered market. Overall plenty to keep you occupied!

Part of our trip was always to explore Barcelona so four days was perfect to do both. Allow plenty of time to wander the streets and the city walls and you'll find plenty of museums, churches, gardens etc to explore. No need for public transport in Girona itself, just decent shoes.
The train to Barcelona is great, 40 minutes, superfast and smooth, walk to Girona station and get on, so much better than the UK. Book tickets in advance using their app (or Trainline!).
Independence Sq on an evening always buzzing, as are the many medieval streets full off choice for food. (8de7) Tapas Restaurant is superb and good value, especially the wine! 1810 Mexican also really good.

The old town is very extensive, and we had good views of it crossing a few footbridges and walking round the city walls (I'm not good with heights but they felt very safe). The Cathedral and the Jewish Museum were both outstanding, and we enjoyed pottering round the side streets with their unexpected views. The Rambla de la Libertat has some quite upmarket shops and eating places and at times seemed very full of tourists, but it was not hard to find more unspoilt places to explore. We ran out of time to visit all the museums, galleries and churches on our list....

Location was good for us as it was easily accessed by car, and we could walk the 20 minutes to the city centre. There was also a bus from outside the hotel to the old town. Driver was very helpful. Bedroom was comfortable with tea and instant coffee making facilities.
Ladies at the bar and dining room were very helpful.
The room was very comfortable and the reception staff were very friendly and helpful - for example, they were able to allow us into our room early. The position of the hotel was good. We were able to park easily and then it was an easy walk to the old town.
It may only be a 3 star but this was perfect for a boys cycling weekend. 10 minute walk from the old town but otherwise well located, rooms were great, breakfast was really good and the pool was a nice touch.
Hotel has secure bike storage
