The small fishing town of Tarifa features narrow cobbled streets, traditional white Mediterranean houses and local tapas bars. Tarifa is great and is a tonic for the soul .Lots of different things to see and do. Generally geared to the kite/surfer connotation in the town there are still a myriad of other activities to do that make it worthy. The scenery and the proximity to North Africa are a big draw. Super chill beach/surf vibe. Epicenter for kiteboarding and windsurfing, Yet for beach loving pensioners a joy to be by the sea. Location on the beach could not have been better. Breakfast overlooking the surf and weather from the restaurant a great way to start the day. Very attentive and friendly staff (although minimal, super efficient). This is a place for a total "off the grid" beach experience (we stayed "off season" in February). Tarifa is a unique gem and a priority stay when visiting Southern Spain. This small town offers everything you could possibly want: a beautiful and easily navigable old town, wide swathes of beautiful beaches, exceptional restaurants, and excellent proximity for day trips to Tangier, Cadiz, Vejer de la Frontera and Gibralter.
