Having a Japanese breakfast is amazing so healthy. The staff were exceptional in restaurant and reception. As reception helped me check in and arranged for my luggage to be sent to the room when the room was cleaned as I was early.

You can eat the most delicious food in the world. Dinner is shojin ryori (Buddhist cuisine). The innkeeper, a woman innkeeper and the senior woman innkeeper are all very kind. The building and furniture are also very rustic and beautiful, allowing you to experience the atmosphere of a Japanese building from the good old days.

Modern Japanese design. Onsen. Ramen and ice cream. Good location with lots of restaurants nearby. Staff were very good, especially the cleaning staff.

Beautiful Japanese room in a quiet village

Standard big station hotel with the ever polite Japanese staff. Small onsens on the ground floor. Although in the back of the building it is a bit awkward to have them there. Breakfast was okay. Nothing great, but nothing wrong. If you want to stay near the station it's a good place.

Wonderful staff - not much English but they have a translating machine which was great. They were so welcoming and couldn't do enough for you. They created a calm and peaceful atmosphere in this traditional old guest house, well situated in this lovely little town. Fabulous Japanese style breakfasts.

The owner of the guesthouse, Mr. Namba, is very friendly. He knows a lot about Shimane, where to go, best way to get there, how much it costs as well as how long it will take. His English is also very good. He is easy to communicate with. The rooms are spacious and open. Although you in a city, it feels like a countryside villa. There is a small Japanese style garden in the back. The location is convenient. It's close to many restaurants. However, I would advise making reservations at the restaurants.

Great location in Matsue. Moder building with a classic Japanese style, everything is Tatami mats from the entrance to your room. Multiple elevators for quick access to any floor. Free amenities (toothbrush etc.), free snacks and manga to read in the hot springs. Large, multiple spring baths with different temperature. Large lounge on the first floor. Rooms are large and well furnished with a table, and a coffee table with a small sofa.
